Complete Appearance Toyota Tacoma Tailgate Insert Satin Black 2016-2018

Everyone has seen the many insert letters ranging from $20.00 to 100.00. So I bought them all for my 2018 Tacoma. I purchased the satin black. It looks like other sellers flat black... I am comparing 4 units. The 1st purchased from eBay for $21.00. 2nd and 3rd from Amazon for $39.00 and $99.00 and the 4th from a local dealer for $45.00. From these prices you can somewhat figure out which sellers/brands I'm comparing. The 1st purchased for $21.00 looks like a plastic sticker very flat, looks to have good adhesive backing. The 2nd and 4th both by different brands but they look identical. Letters are about 1/8 thick, nice looking cleanly cut. Both look to have 3m adhesive tape. The MAJOR different that makes this $99.00 unit no.3 MY CHOICE is the thickness of the lettering of about 1/4 inches thick a true 3D appearance. It really looks OEM. Take a look at the pic. Prepped vehicle and installed in about 5 min. I will update review in a few weeks to make sure letters stay clean and adhesive works good........3 months later and letters still look great. None of the letters are coming off and they still look brand new no color fading.

I was skeptical, mostly due to pricing and that it isn’t metal. I purchased the competing steel inserts prior to this but had to remove them for some body work. This product is great, and they pop like you couldn’t imagine. Package was quality, everything was. Perfectly matches stock emblems. Looks like OEM from factory. Don’t know why Toyota isn’t using these on all trucks. Be careful when ligning up, once they catch there’s no going back. Very happy!

product arrived pretty quick. Installed the the letters in about 5 minutes after watching the video, pretty simple. It took more time cleaning the letters with alcohol to get the adhesive off. They shined up real nice and makes the truck look awesome! Hopefully they hold up, I will update my review after winter here in Colorado. They are expensive, but at the same time they do look nice.

It looks great and was easy to install. I wiped the letter indents all down with alcohol twice per directions, lined the letters up on the C and the O and stuck them on there pressing firmly working outward. Peeled off the centering tape and done. After about a week I noticed the base half of of the "T" was not adhering like the crossbar above it was. I pressed it down, walked away and the next day it has repeatedly popped up again. I have requested a "T" from the seller. I'm also hoping the remainder of the T that I must remove doesn't leave a mess that goof-off can't dissolve.I hope I won't have to explain my ACOMA for long. Went to take a picture but the T was still stuck down to the tailgate.

The great reviews this product receives are legit.Absolutely stunning on my black Tacoma limited.They are very much OEM or better in appearance.Do yourself a favor and spend the extra on these your truck was not cheap why go cheap on the details. I was not sure which to buy for a black truck but decided on the chrome / black set as opposed to all chrome so subtle so sexy. Glad I scrolled past on the vinyl stuff and found these could not be more pleased and worth every penny!

I had originally bought and applied a cheaper brand of chrome lettering, to my tailgate, but it looked flat and awful, so I bought these and used a heat gun and elbow grease to remove my prior mistake. These look great! Easy to apply yourself in just a few minutes. Good adhesion. Three-dimensional look just like factory lettering, so much better than the cheaper version. Highly recommend this product!

I was skeptical about how easy this was to install. The video seemed to good to be true. BUT we installed the letters today... so easy to install and the lettering really adds a nice look to the tailgate. Now to see how the lettering stands up to the adverse weather. I love the 3D look of the letters. In my opinion this was definitely worth the extra money.

It is definitely worth the money the dealership had put the regular black ones on my truck which it did not match with the Chrome trim around the truck these are awesome !!!!! Now everything looks uniformed.
