If all you've ever used is an original Rubik's cube, then you don't yet understand just how big a difference using a speed cube like this will make in your enjoyment of solving the puzzle.I purchased a Rubik's cube for my son this last Christmas, and I ended up playing with it for about a week before I went to YouTube to learn a system for solving it. Once I learned to solve it, I started looking for ways to solve it more quickly.I found a "Solve it in 5 seconds" video on YT that noted it's not realistic for a newbie to solve the cube in 5 seconds unless it's set up, sort of like a trick, and that getting faster requires a ton of practice and a solid understanding of the basic steps/sequences that need to happen in order to solve the puzzle quickly. One of the tools that was mentioned was getting a faster cube, and this is one of the cube's the guy recommended for lower budgets.Being that I'm new to this, I didn't want to jump in with an expensive cube. I took the recommendation and purchased this cube, and it's fantastic. It comes in a nice box (for those who care about such things), is smooth and quick to work with, and is sturdy.I haven't had any issues with it and I solve it probably 10-15 times daily as I work on getting faster. My son fell in love with it as well and I bought a second cube for him. It is identical to the first one and is just as smooth, quick, and sturdy.At this point, I'd go ahead and give this product my full recommendation. Granted, it has only been a month, but I use it a lot and it's showing no signs of wear. For any other fellow newbs out there, this cube is the way to go.

After I gave my first YJ to a friend, I ordered an identical looking one that had a better delivery time - that was a mistake. I figured they were probably the same item with different bashing. I was wrong. It was slow and clunky. The YJ is the best entry-priced cube. Get it and you won’t be disappointed.

Purchased this as my first speed cube after learning the basics of solving on a GoCube.I'm no expert but can provide my feedback on my experience as a total cubing noob. I've found the cube to be really fast and smooth, even to the point where when I first got it I had a little trouble controlling it. After a little while getting used to it I got used to how quickly this cube glides when turning and how forgiving it is when you don't quite line it up. I've had the cube 'correct' itself (I think it's called corner cutting) when it was only about half way. It just 'pops' the rest of the way. I've played around with the tension and think I've found a good middle ground between speed and control. I'm yet to have any pieces twist or pop out despite how rough my novice turning is.This cube is WAY beyond my capabilities and I'm not even testing 10% of it's capabilities so I would say this is an amazing first speed cube and one that will well into your cubing hobby.
