Q: Can you plug in an expression pedal?

YES it has a 1/4" jack input for an expression pedal etc

Q: Usb is charging only? or can be used to control hardware? other than pc. mac. ios.?

Yeah you can hardwire it to your PC/Mac with usb-c thats how i have mine set up

Q: Was anyone able to use this with macos? does it need any extra software? i can see the program change message, but not value is sent.

It works with my iPad but I can’t get it to work on my Mac I’ve tried Bluetooth and usb the problem I think stems from the fact that there’s no software for the mac unlike the iOS I did try using the iOS software on the Mac but all to no avail I’ve had a good look around on forums etc but the general consensus is it doesn’t work on MAC 😩
