first major update in 150 years
ever since the first pilot charts were compiled up by an American Navy officer in the mid 1800's this is the first real update, based on satellite data. A great idea of Ivan Cornell to utilise the modern data by NOAA as a basis for these accurate and well layed out pilot charts.Now I'm just waiting for the charting softwares that are around (e.g. Passage Planner 20 to start using this data. Surely just a matter of time.

This obviously took a long time to create and the attention to detail paid off. Great atlas.

Very well thought out atlas!
Perfect addition to a long distance sailor's library. Although much of this information can be visualized via the Internet or software, sometimes you just need things on paper in front of you and in a large format.Plus you have the input of master sailors to make all this relevant

Invaluable tool
We will use this book as we sail around the world. It will help in planning our voyage. As a companion to Jimmy Cornell's World Cruising Destinations, we will have most of what we need for heading off shore with a solid plan.

For anyone used to the wind and currents charts on the back of a routing chart such as the Imray 100, this is a complete atlas of all the world's oceans, month by month, with the same information plus notes of routes and passages. A huge amount of information distilled into 120 pages

Cornells world pilotage charts
As with most of JC's publications it is a very well thought out and very useful pilotage aid. This has found a place of prominence on our sailboat.

Not easy to store but just what my husband wanted.
I bought this book for my husband - he loves it! The book is floppy and large, so not really suitable for a bookshelf.
