Farberware Pro 5282802 Silicone Head One Hand Lock Tong, 12-Inch, Black

These are a replacement for an older pair that had the black end come off. I didn't want to try to glue it on as I didn't want to use something that goes down into the food as it could be toxic. I use them for grasping pieces of hot chicken and meat mostly. I use them with non-stick cookware and have all metal for other cookware. It took me awhile to find these. There are a lot of cheaply made versions out there. This is your best bet.

The tongs overall are good, I just wish, as with everything these days, that the overall construction was a bit sturdier. I hoped that being Farberware the quality was going to be higher, but for the price point, the item is pretty much what I expected.

These are the best tongs I ever had. At the moment, I must have at least 6 pair of various tongs in my kitchen drawer, but these are the ones I always reach for. They really grip, which is more than I can say for any of the other brands. The silicone type are the worst, food just slides off. These have stainless side “ teeth” that help to grip your food. The only con is I wish the handle was longer.

The product is listed as silicon tipped, however the product is hard plastic.

I always like Farberware cooking wear, and once this tong was on sale, I got 3 of them right the way but it was very disappointing. It is very hard and stiff. The edge of the metal handle is sharp and thin.The Nylon tip is hard and with the nooks and grooves design, it does a good job on grasping things, however, it is hard to clean, and it is tough. I won’t use it on my nice cookware.This tongs sure does the job with average quality, it is far from “professional”. I won’t get it again.

Love them! they are my smallest set of tongs, very nimble, close without having to use more than minimum hand strength, will pick up a toothpick or a steak, dishwasher safe, unlock to open by tapping the end on the counter. That is especially nice, the one handed operation to unlock the tongs comes in handy.

I guess these are “as good as it gets”??? I ordered based on the word “Professional” in the item description… I guess professionals are not as fussy as I am??I give these tongs an average rating - - in part because the vast majority of other tongs out there are just junk!! These are ‘okay’… I am not sure how the ‘adjustable locking feature’ will work in my kitchen - I want them to open fully and there is an adjustment on how much these open - so that might be an issue.I WANTED SUPREME QUALITY, LARGE TONGS… these will do - until I find a really large, truly professional quality set of tong for kitchen and BBQ use.So far - only minimally impressed.

Contrary to the title, these are not self-locking tongs like professional one handed locking ones in a restaurant kitchen. They are a good quality though and loved the serrated tongs so kept them.
