Soft Stem
The stem seems to be made from low carbon mild steel threaded rod. It bends easily and seems like it may snap. The foot pedal for the brake is made from thin cast aluminum alloy. Its so thin, that it appears to be formed sheet steel in the pics. I expect this lever to snap eventually. I expected more from a "premium" caster with a "premium" price....

Great wheels! I put these on a large patio ...
Great wheels! I put these on a large patio umbrella so that I could move the umbrella around my concrete patio. The base and the umbrella weigh just over 500 lbs. The base had threaded 3/8"-16 but the threads were not perfect - it was hard to screw these in for some reason. But they worked out find. These wheels do a great job moving the umbrella around. The weight makes it tough for the wheels to easily twist to go in different directions, but that is probably due to friction with the concrete. Saved me from buying a second umbrella to get shade where I need it. A larger wheel may have been easier to roll around, but then then it would elevate the umbrella even more. This was a good size and you can't beat the load rating at 300 lbs per wheel! Don't skimp on the weight rating. You can't go wrong with these wheels. They seem to be very well built and are quite sturdy. I am happy.

Impressively smooth under weight
The's are great. Some guys will probably criticize this, but I have these on my 300lb lathe setup and they roll so smooth around my garage it is amazing. With all 4 locked I have no trouble with wobble but I am also not turning gigantic unbalanced bowl blanks. I have less expensive casters on all my cabinets in the garage and the difference between those cheap casters and these is dramatic. If you have something heavy and need it to roll around like it's on ice, these are well worth the money.

I put these on a 6" joiner / planer that has a very thick, heavy cast iron bed and 10" band saw. They are fantastic! I agree with a previous review that the leg supports need to be pretty sturdy, but it doesn't take much to add that kind of support.

Because of the wheel offset fro the bolt, there's lots of torque on whatever these things are anchored into. Make sure that you have a VERY rigid install point.

Great set of wheels for a Server Rack.
I added these onto my server rack. They are heavy duty and are very smooth. Great product.
