Brainstorm Toys E2001 Light Up 2 in 1 Globe Earth & Constellations, Multicolor

My little girl (4) loves this. We bought it for Xmas and she is amazed at the constellations it shows in the dark. It’s so clear, and we are using it also as a night light in her bedroom.If you look at the actual countries by day, you will see the constellations underneath, it can’t be helped, but if you only want a pure globe to study countries, then this probably isn’t for you.NOTE: after reading these reviews, I had purchased a multi adapter plug to save me constantly replacing batteries BUT actually I think the model has been upgraded as it takes a USB charger lead as well (one you might use to charge a phone, tablet, kindle etc)

Wish I had got another without the gimmicky night sky bit. You can only see the stars in absolute darkness and even then the world map is apparent at the same time. My boy was too rough spinning it at first, and knocked the sphere off the stand, damaging the connections so the light didn't work. I thought it was quite tacky in the wiring quality, but fixed it with superglue. The world map is clear and detailed, well printed.

Accurate enough interpretation of the stars for our 5yo to navigate from the globe to the night sky.Terrestrial globe is perfect for beginners to get their heads around continents and countries.As a night light we have had no issues running off batteries, have used a mains adapter purchased separately (Universal Regulated 600mA AC/DC Adaptor Power (OR-AD600)) with no issues either. Worth noting that if batteries are fitted - the mains adapter will not work. The light is gentle enough to leave on a bedside table and give enough light to check up on them.Quality of stand is not fantastic and the reason for 4* rating. It does the job but I can't see it standing up to being knocked over too many times.C

My son loved this globe and for the first half dozen times we used it, it was great. However after that it stopped working properly. The light will only come on with a mains adapter and then it constantly flickers. It won’t come on at all with batteries! I contacted the seller to be basically told that even though it stopped working after just 7 months because it’ more than 6 months (their legal obligation) they will not replace it. Pretty disgraceful service especially as these reviews show that there is a pattern of this problem occurring with the product.

2nd one delivered. Was for Granddaughters birthday. The Globe is off centre, both of them. Looks like locating pins at top and bottom are bent. Result, it does not spin with ease and I am not going to be surprised if it does not break the pins soon.Quality is poor and just not worth the money.Eats Batteries.

I’ve bought this for my 6 year old son for Christmas, he is going to be ‘over the moon’ with this globe as not only does it have the countries it has the star constellations for when it’s dark. My son is really into countries and we have to play eye spy countries... I spy with my little eye a country beginning with... so this will help him find where the countries are in relation to each other.

A very upset child on Christmas Day as Father Christmas had sent a broken present. Can’t comment on the functionality as it didn’t work. We tried batteries and power adapter but was as dead as the proverbial dodo.No response from the manufacturer yet.....

Was a birthday present for my son and he absolutely loves it. He's just starting to get interested in geography so this was perfect. When he turns it on at night (or a dark room) the constellations are clearly visible and give a nice contrast to the 'day version' of this globe. Delivery was fast too & the product was cheaper here than anywhere else I'd looked, so all in all I'm very happy with this order :)
