Like it!
This is a nifty letter opener. I like it a lot because I get a lot of mail and I find that it makes opening mail a lot easier and faster. It will actually cut the envelope to open and you will have a small stip to pick up after the envelope is opened. When using the opener, you have to be careful not to cut the letter that is in the envelpe. If the envelope is a little thick it will get stuck and you may have to take a little pressure but it will cut and open it. I find that cutting the envelope along the side instead of across the top is better because it won't get stuck if the envelope is stuffed or bulky and don't have to worry about cutting the letter. I recommend this for someone who has a lot of mail or who hate opening envelopes. One little zip across the top or size of the envelope and it's opened. You won't regret buying it; it didn't.

I had high hopes, but it's a near miss.
It's pretty nifty for envelopes of normal, flimsy thickness and with content that doesn't fill the height of the envelope. Very quick and efficient. But if an envelope is of stiffer stock or if the content is thick enough to pooch out the envelope, you'll need to keep your scissors or a blade-type letter opener handy; I'm not referring to content that completely fills the envelope . . . that would be an unfair expectation.. I would be happy with a more powerful version and a sharper blade.

Terrific desk accessory...
This envelope opener is very sturdy and does a clean job of taking off the exact amount of envelope each time. Battery insertion is a bit tricky; just remember to focus on and remember the position of the pieces as you are separating them to put in the batteries. This makes it immediately easier to position them correctly to close and use.

A great little tool!
I love it! I am a volunteer firefighter and we have an annual fund drive where the residents of our community send donations via the USPS. We used to open the letters, maybe one hundred each week, by hand. This neat little gadget is a great time-saver. It takes a few envelopes to develop the proper technique, but once you get a rhythm going you can open a large number of envelopes in a relatively short period of time.

Compact and efficient
I have a large number of envelopes to open, and fumbling with a standard "knife" letter opener can be frustrating. The SharpTank is compact and easy to use for one or two envelopes at a time.I expect that the novelty will wear off, but it has been fun to use so far.

I am finally able to open my own mail.
This light weight little opener works great.I have used it for two months with no problems. Please note it is a little tricky to insert the 4 batteries. Take your time and you will see where to place them. You do need both hands...one to hold it and one to slide envelopes through it.It cuts off just the right amount each time so there is no need to tap the contents into place. It will open manilla envelopes as well.

Clean quick cuts.
I dig it. I've always liked opening mail and inevitably I'd run my finger through the envelope to open it and papercut city. This letter opener is quick and doesn't make a mess. I always give the mail a shake so that the information inside slides to one side so I don't cut it. Saves time and yes probably expensive for something to open mail but it's a time and papercut saver for me.

Fast, Easy Openings
I opened 10 envelopes in less than a minute. It's fast and powerful with fresh batteries. But watch out for all the little narrow trimmings that fall off. Prepare for a stack of giant tooth picks. It's fun to use, but keep it away from kids.
