12 Monkeys UHD [Blu-ray]

The April 2022 UHD version of this film, released by Arrow, has a significant error in the mastering. A 20 second video sequence is repeated, the footage from 41:11 to 41:31 happens twice with different audio. A sequence of video is missing and has been replaced by the duplication. Arrow is aware of this but has not announced a replacement. This is unacceptable and ruins the product!

An interesting and strange movie. Liked it though.Upgraded from DVD to Blu Ray and saw a marked improvement in quality. In 1996 a virus wipes out a huge percentage of the world’s population... that would never happen now days would it? 🤔

Set in a strange, maybe now more familiar, dystopian world, devastated by a pandemic released by a mad scientist. fortunately, the 'council' has the ability to send a minion back into the past, seeking a way to stop that future. Bruce Willis is the minion, Brad Pitt the brilliantly schizophrenic target, his urban terrorist organisation, Twelve Monkeys, a full dairy fruit and nut group. completing the triangle is love interest Madeleine Stow. A terry Gillian masterpiece, and the perfect film to lockdown with. It deserves recognition for Gillian's talents, Willis acting the roll deftly, and Pitt's portrayal. The plot may be slightly flawed as it completes the circle, but its a regular rerun for me, alongside Luc Besson's Leon, but that's another story.

This is another great release from Arrow, The Picture quality is a massive upgrade on all other releases, There is a level of film grain retained in the picture and detail is superb. I watched in Dolby Vision and the black levels were spot on and plenty of detail on display, there is one thing to mention and that is at about the 45minute mark there is a repeating scene error on the disc and arrow have now acknowledged this, writing this review 11th may 2022 they may recall the disc for replacement , who knows. The release also came with a Nice Slipcover and booklet on first pressing, Highly recommended

Arrived on time 👍, these ARROW Video's are great restoration's , 4K restoration , 5.1DTS or 2.0 stereo ,upgrade from DVD ,Terry Gilliam's time paradox and Love movie , Brilliant , interviews and documentary about the making of , happy video head 😀👍

Terry Gilliam certainly has a unique way of looking at the world, which comes across in his movies.I won't comment on the story, as I wouldn't want to give anything away, other than to say, I've watched this film several times, and each time, it only gets better, as I understand more and more of what is going on, and realise that what I thought was going on on previous viewings was just scratching the surface.Excellent performances by Bruce Willis, Brad Pitt and Madeline Stowe.Good "Making of..." and "Audio Commentary too!Well recommended!

If you are reading this, you know what you think of the film - I love it.Older films seldom look like what people seem to expect from a new film on 4k, and this is no exception. Some scenes are a significant uplift from blu ray, others less so - although the feeling of looking into the screen (rather than at it) is enhanced throughout. Quite a few of the scenes seem to have a feeling of 'fish eye' lens about them, and I think these show less detail/resolution than those shot more conventionally.A joy to watch again though, and no regrets about upgrading to 4k.

Iconic movie done justice by Arrow as the movie looks as good as it possibly could do.A star knocked off as there's no upgrade in the sound department,very good DTS 5-1,but I wonder what an Atmos or DTS X soundtrack would have sounded like,but other than that excellent.
