I have the 1500LCDX with the extended runtime battery. Two of them actually, located in my entertainment center. After unboxing and connection to mains power for testing, both units both came up correctly on startup, detected the extended batteries when the appropriate settings change were made and properly updated their respective estimated runtime accordingly. There was some initial high speed fan noise from both on startup, which is normal behavior - the same behavior you will see when the units go to battery power from mains - followed a few minutes later by low volume audible fan noise comparable to that of a PC. After fully charging both units I placed them into service. The low volume fan noise mentioned above was concerning at first as it was clearly audible in a quiet room. However, it was only loud enough to be heard during very (as in 'very') quiet passages while playing music and was inaudible when watching TV or movies. That said, even the low-level fan noise completely disappeared later on as the house was cooled by the AC later in the day. As I write this both units are running and are audibly silent and have been so for the past two days. On power off test, under load, both units immediately transferred to battery power and estimated runtime accurately adjusted based on the load being carried. The load from 75-inch Sony Bravia connected to Unit A was maintained without any evidence the UPS had switched over. Estimated runtime on Unit A updated to 110 minutes - very close to what I had estimated prior to the test. In terms of build quality, these don't match the APC products of similar spec I have running elsewhere in my home (powering servers and development machines), but so far, they are performing up to my expectations and are significantly less expensive. If something changes, I will update this review. Suffice to say, if you see reviews stating these UPS units fail on switch to battery, have anomalous estimated runtime information being displayed, or are inordinately noisy, I can conclusively state this has not been my experience.

I bought this specifically to give me a window of time when we have a power outage that I could safely shutdown our server. that said, I am seriously considering adding the extra battery pack to extend the runtime. The scrolling display is nice as it provides all the necessary info. It is not too bright so works well in the cabinet of our media room without blinding you as you watch a movie. I have not connected via the app/browser so cannot speak to that. It is a bit of a porker, naturally, so just be careful when mounting it. I would recommend this unit especially for the expansion option. It is not cheap but do you really want cheap? I prefer good.

Replaces an existing UPS. Was as simple as popping the old unit out and placing the new one in its place. Works great in my server rack.

Switching was incredibly slow. So slow in fact that the power cycled on my small 3D printer before it audibly clicked. The 350 watt Meanwell power supply usually carries enough power on it's own to run for a second or two when the power blips to it, but this completely useless UPS was so slow that a few second brownout was enough to completely derail everything. Several hours worth of printing shot right down the tubes by this craptacular product not doing it's job. Checked to make sure I didn't have the battery side overloaded, but I didn't. It had only that one 3D printer on it and that was all. The power supply is rated far below what would be needed to overload the rating that this UPS is supposed to carry. DEEPLY Disappointed. It tried to cycle back on, but the inrush current of the printer's power supply was enough to take it out. THERE WOULD NOT BE INRUSH CURRENT IF THIS UPS WOULD HAVE SWITCHED IN TIME LIKE IT WAS SUPPOSED TO!!!!
