Tone's Italian Spaghetti Seasoning Blend (14 Ounce) (Pack of 2)

I've used Tones spices for years here. Their garlic and pepper, Italian herb, steak seasoning, etc. I have always found them to be a cut above the McCormick's spices that unfortunately have a monopoly on their being more easily available in stores. Tones is getting harder and harder to find in stores. Thank God they are still readily available here on Amazon. This spaghetti seasoning blend is the best I have used. For sauces, soups, and meatballs as well. This blend is not just excellent, but even comes for a right fair price as well. I use it all time for sauces and even meatballs which isn't mentioned here that much. I have been making my own meatballs for years following my own recipe. But the addition of this into the mix really brings out some excellent flavor. As for sauce, I agree with many of the other reviewers here that express how delicious it is as well as this being all you need for a great quick sauce..I've used this with everything from jarred sauce that I have spiced up to a big can of crushed tomatoes that I let simmer for hours that is excellent. I have to admit however that my favorite use of this is with a couple of cans of tomato paste with equal parts of water, (or more, depending on how thick you like it), some extra garlic, and a splash of wine if I have it on hand. The sauce it makes after some simmering is fantastic. It's been called the best I have made by company here. Just one thing I have warn everyone about this blend. It's a very strong, robust one for sure. Much spicier than just adding a regular Italian seasoning, and, it can be really easy to overdue a sauce or meatballs with it...I never add more than one tablespoon for a couple of cans of paste, and two of them per big can of crushed tomatoes...You may enjoy it spicier than that, but try the smaller amount first is my suggestion. You can always add more later as opposed to overdoing it...This is especially important when making meatballs with it. It's an excellent all round spice for meatballs, but be cheap with it at first. This stuff can easily overwhelm a meatball mix when overused. I use one heaping tablespoon per pound of hamburger with some garlic and grated cheese and they come out wonderful..Definitely try it in your meatballs.. One last thing...There is some debate here as to how salty this is. Personally I like my salt, and don't object to it being a part of any spice blend. But for what it's worth, I cannot call this an overly salty blend at all. It's actually so spicy with other things that I barely taste any salt in it at all. But to each his own. That is my take on it anyway...In conclusion, this is not just an excellent blend, but its also very fairly priced here on Amazon for two big containers. Although at first glance this blend may look overly course, the big pieces of onion and bell pepper quickly soften and don't come off hard or two big in your sauce. ( I have also used this in my home made chicken soup. It really adds a great kick to it..) Overall one of the best spice blends I have ever used and is always in my kitchen now..In my opinion much better than the McCormick equivalent..Glad to be able to find it here on Amazon at a fair price to boot..Highly recommended..

This is the best seasoning to add to your Italian meals. I use it every time I cook any kind of pasta for my family. It has just the right amount of seasoning. I use it in my spaghetti, stuff shells and chicken Alfredo.

The previous Spicy Spaghetti Seasoning I had been buying has gotten less available, so I shifted to this. Good flavor, just not as heat-forward as I had gotten used to.Rather than add pepper flakes, I think I'll get used to it and perhaps prefer it as a base for homemade marinara.Shake gently but thoroughly before dispensing so you don't end up with inconsistent flavor and texture when you get to the bottom of the container.

I use this for so many things. It made my Goulash so tasty and my (un)stuffed Peppers were so flavorful!

Very straightforward for making spaghetti sauce (instructions on the back when you open the label). Tastes great! Not sure if I'd use it for something I water bath canned (not sure how the pH and air bubble traps would go) but I use it all the time for freeze dried spaghetti sauce. The big bottle also makes it easy to use as much, or as little, as you need at a time.
