Handmade in the USA, this chic, cylindrical pillow is 6 inches in diameter by 16 inches long. Made of off white cotton canvas fabric, with hand appliqued, silk sari strips in shades of avocado and grass green, fashioned into undulating waves across the pillow. The raw-edged sari strips are a fair trade by-product of the manufacture of beautiful Indian saris, and are one-of-a-kind in pattern and rich color. I hand-pick and place the strips to create the applique. This pillow is part of my Paradise Collection that was inspired by two elements: My photograph and sketch of a striking Art Deco fixture at the historic theatre in the Santa Catalina Island Casino building; and my contemporary-colors take on traditional Amish quilt designs, like those made in Paradise, Pennsylvania.
