A coloring book with a unique subject matter. Lots of detailed and small areas to color. Half the pages are text.

My very best friends loves anything and everything Egyptian. When I saw this coloring book I knew I had to buy it for him. I was surprised that it had explanations about who the coloring page is depicting. At first I was a little bit upset but it turns out that he absolutely loves that part of it as well. It's a great buy for anyone who likes or loves Egyptian anyting.

One of several books available now to color in on ancient Egypt- got it mostly for the content- drawings some what crude because of the time period it's trying to portray; if you're interested in coloring but also Egyptian history it's work picking up. If you aren't into Egypt per se you might not like the art in this one.

Well drawn and more or less accurate images and text about the ancient Egyptian Gods and Goddesses. Dover can be hit or miss when it comes to quality of the art work sometimes, and this was a good one.

I bought this as a simple coloring book to go along with the very cute and soft Bastet and Anubis plush toys. Wow! I had no idea how much information it has about each of the figures. It's has captured by seven-year-old's attention. This was a great find.

This is much sought book for reference that was looking for in which you can use and twist a wide range of Design and cloths to come with your own character Outfit , Awesome book plus it tells the reader which rank or Position that character cloths represent and what position in there sociaty they played

Gods of Ancient Egypt just like its companion Norse Gods and Goddesses (Dover Classic Stories Coloring Book) and others in the series this too works on two levels.It both entertains and educates.Firstly as a colouring book this is excellent and surprisingly cheap.The art is clear not so detailed as others which makes it much better as a colouring book.Dover really are focused on saving the planet and the paper that they use is recycled- saving trees and planting others. So there is a trade off with the quality of the paper.True you would be better with coloured pencils rather than paints or pens as both will bleed and actually go through the pages.The paper is not robust and the siren's call of the photocopier set to 131% beckons.Secondly the book actually tells you something about the fantastic subject of the Gods of Ancient Egypt.The subject of Ancient Egypt and their gods has long fascinated the world.This is an excellent introduction to the subject and as such is brilliant for schools and teachers.If you are a teacher or in Education then this is the book for you.Each page has a decent caption and a reasonably detailed explanation.True not all the gods or goddesses are covered but the book would have to be many times thicker to cover half of it.The subjects selected are excellent and very detailed with a good selection of subject matter.I see that my fellow American reviewers have criticised this book.One says it is’ an insult to the Gods’ another says that they wished the book ‘were more authentic’.Hmm the book is a colouring book so not detailed nor shaded the colourist does that and the gods and goddesses are not real, are they?I’ve never seen a new temple for the Egyptian cult being built for 1000s of yearsIf you are teacher or in education and you class or students are covering Ancient Egypt then this is an excellent resource.As a Primary Teacher and History Coordinator I was always after good resources.In my opinion this book would have been an excellent choice. Inexpensive and adaptable.Bruce Fontaine has compiled a brilliant book.I would take a look at the Norse Gods One too. This colour in book is well laid out - does give good info on the Gods - well produced
