I used to work for Lifescan, so I didn't expect much for the really low price. Pleasantly surprised. Well made. Easy to use. Accuracy I cannot say because I dont have a reference machine. It is compact. Pain is not too bad considering you are blatting you finger tip with a pin to get blood out. For £20 for a complete kit with 200 strips, it is very hard to beat. If I was type I, I would get given a big brand meter. Since I am Type 2, I am just looking to keep my BG under 7 - and change my lifestyle and metformin timing until it is. Type I's need something a bit better, and your GP should prescribe. But even then I bet it would be alright (if you need a spare to keep in the car for example).

This is the best kit I've used, easy to use and understand plus the pen is smooth, if you are thinking of getting this kit, the pen isn't a pull off its a twist, I only need a 2 but my partner needs to be up full, to penetrat the skin, it comes with the supply of lancets and strips and it counts down instead of the stupid dots the old one had.

Testing kit is accurate.Comes with 100 strips for testing. (main reason i bought it).Simple to use and logs your weekly and mothly averages.Finger pricker is sturdy and strong. It feels well built, so far has not got stuck.Nice roomy case too.

toyed with new buying a watch with blood sugar monitoring but decided i would purchase a proven and good dedicated blood sugar tester needed accuracy and most watches are not medically approved those that are cost a lot more and the readings are not guaranteed to be to be accurate.Purchased a Sinocare Safe-Accu 2 blood glucose meter it comes with everything you need and works fine retains test results for keeping track.

I got this because the one I had was costing a fortune in test strips, plus I had to order them on line because the chemist only sells the meter and lancets. Anyway, I am very happy with it. There is a very useful chart included which helps with working out just how high the sugar levels are. My pancreas sustained damage during a E.R.C.P which caused chronic pancreatitis and has resulted in me developing type 3c diabetes, it's not 'full blown' yet, so my levels are all over the place, at the moment diet is being used to try to control it, but that is becoming more difficult as more damage is caused. As a result I do use a larger number of test strips and lancets than the majority of people. The only reason I have not given 5 stars is because the lancet thing is a bit fiddly to sort out. Maybe its because I am so used to the other one, but no problem because I can still use my old one until the lancets are used up. In the meantime I will practice with the new one. I would happily recommend this unit.UPDATE... I have now sorted the lancet thing out, if this is the first monitor you buy, I doubt that anyone would have a problem - my problem was simply because I was used to a flat surface where the lancet comes out. This is slightly curved which led to me not positioning it properly - all my fault and nothing to do with the equipment- so updated to 5 stars.

I AM soo disappoint, I brought this item in good faith thinking it would monitor my blood levels. Trust me after. An hour of trying everything I have given up.
