Genuine Kirby Vacuum Cleaner Brush Roll #156294 Fits G3, G4

Update 7-7-15 Well I have used this vacuum almost every day since I got it up and running and it still runs like the king it is. All the parts are still working perfect.Ok, so I'm totally a bargain shopper and when I was in the Goodwill last week I saw this lonely Kirby G3 sitting there all pitiful looking and needing a good home. I just happen to be wanting a great vacuum cleaner and it was a match made in heaven. But that being the case the poor thing had been abused. Two or three of the fins had been broken off and the beater bar was missing one end and they ran it without a bag : ( So I took out my phone and looked up all the parts on Amazon and decided it was worth the work. I got the G3 for 20 bucks and ordered the parts. Today I got the parts and this item was a perfect replacement for that broken beater bar. Also for those who don't know, The Kirby original beater bar is unbalanced so that when running it actually vibrates the carpet to loosen more dirt. I checked to see if this was also unbalanced and sure enough, it is. So now I have a perfect G3 and I am the envy of my friends.

Perfect fit

I was one of the unlucky ones who received the almost perfect brush - with the ends reversed. Fortunately they're somewhat easy to swap out and once that was done, it's amazing and wonderful....but this company needs to get things right because some folks may not be able to use this brush as-is.

My Kirby dates back to the early 90’s, and refuses to die! I’ve replaced the outer bag twice (cats), the foot switch, at least one hose and also attachments and countless belts. This is the second brush roll replacement and it made it as new again, it works flawlessly! Couldn’t be happier with this purchase!

To install this brush on a Generation 3 (G3) the brush rotation sensor will not work unless the following adjustment is performed. The ends of the brush with the roller bearings and mounting clips are must be pulled off and reinstalled on the opposite ends. Then reinstall the brush noting the little magnet is aligned the the rotation sensor pickup in the brush housing. After this is done installation is 100% good. Good luck.
