These work great. I get them wet before and make sure to losen up a small "hole," in the soil then push them in; they can break easily because they are clay. And, I bury them deep enough that the wine bottles are held securely. Probably want to dig them out and store them in colder climates, so the soil does not freeze around them and cause them to break.

These stakes saved my plants. We soaked them first, made a hole in the soil and put a long neck wine bottle filled with water in the stake. My plants did not shed one leaf. While away, I could not let myself think of what I may return to (dead plants). Some of my plants are 25 years old! I was so happy to see my beautiful plants just the way I left them.

Fill a Coke bottle of whatever with water and place in the holder and it will gently feed for weeks. I love it !!

These work great! However, the stake is not very tough and two of them were broken. I had no problem pushing it down into the dirt and it holds a standard wine bottle nicely.

I love these! A similar product is sold at a local nursery, and for the price of one of those I got 4 through Amazon. Such a great deal!

Hard to push into dirt but kept plants alive while on vacation. Satisfied.

It is odd, sometimes the water goes into the soil, sometimes it does not and the plant gets dry, so you have to keep an eye on the plant to make sure it is not too dry. But most of the time they work well.
