tl;dr - if it doesn't open or seems defective, send it back and try againNoticing our old faithful generic memory foam topper was not bouncing back anymore in places, we decided it's time for an upgrade. First we purchased this from a different place who were selling old stock, and gave us a full refund as our first topper did not decompress. Think it's a known issue with either the way these are folded or if they have been improperly stored.Not deterred, we tried Amazon and hit the mother lode on this one - it was fully opened and puffed out in less than 24h! No unpleasant smell either, which is a blessing.We got the 3 inch king size one, and since putting it on my sleep has been so much better. I am a side sleeper so need a topper which is on the softer side, and I'm happy to say that this one has sufficient give, whilst at the same time staying supportive and not 'swallowing' me.The ventilation holes are not quite centered, but it doesn't really bother me.Haven't noticed any cooling effect yet, however it's definitely not warmer than my previous topper and I use a heated blanket on it anyway.Tip - put the cover on before it decompresses, it was quite a challenge to do it after!Overall, I'm delighted with this topper, you can see in my pictures how dense and smooth the foam is, value for money is superb, these have become so overpriced nowadays, so happy to find this brand. If you're on the fence - just get it, unless you get a dud you won't be disappointed.

Now don't get me wrong, before I write the rest of this review I want to say it is actually really comfortable, however, I haven't slept through the night once since putting it on my bed nearly 2 months ago. Myself and my partner are waking up every night soaked in sweat. I'm having to change my pyjamas during the night every night and I've had to change my bedding almost every day. I'm in Scotland so it is absolutely by no means even close to warm during February and March, sleeping on this feels like its deep in the middle of summer. I'm now having to look for another solution to my too firm mattress as we can't go on like this. We tried persevering but it's impossible. I'm sweating that much during the night I'm waking up dehydrated and that's never happened before I got this. I don't know why it's advertised as breathable because it certainly is not. I've not only wasted £70 on this, I've wasted money on new sheets to count for the extra hight added to my mattress, a new thinner quilt to try and cool us down, the amount of washing I've had to do because of the sweat.It's a shame because it is very comfy, if you don't mind sleeping in a puddle of your own sweat. I'm unfortunately too late to return it as I kept persevering hoping I'd get used to it. Now I have less money to find an alternative.

no one has ever written a bad review about mattress toppers. this is one of the best around as the weight alone confirms its premium build and density /sq inch. its thick heavy and super nice to lay down on. someone has layered 2 of these 7.5cm and 1 10cm lucid for a bed ridden patient and there have never been any bed sores. so there is the quality for you . I have 10cm of this and it's pure bliss. never feels like home in any other hotel bed. this is the real deal. just check the weight and compare it with others in the market. the heavier the weight the more dense and plush the topper.

Really decent quality memory foam mattress. Some people have had trouble with the mattress not expanding properly but I left it on a flat surface for over a day and had no trouble. It had a slight smell initially but I can't smell it when sleeping on it. Still retains its form quite well and I am happy with the quality given so many alternatives on Amazon seem to be of poor quality.

Arrived on time as described. This is the cheapest mattress topper I could find, it's also one of the thickest and it easily covered my king-sized double bed and has made a great improvement to my mattress and my sleeping comfort. However being simple foam it does make me slightly hot sometimes and I'm wondering whether I should have bought one of the expensive ones that supposedly has some ventilation inside, although I'm not convinced that would be any better anyway

After reading the blurb describing all the different layers built into the foam for support and exhaust ports for cooling I feel like I have just bought a great big lump of foam with holes drilled through it.It had increased the heat in the bed if anything but that is my only criticism as it has decreased the firmness of the horrible mattress I bought from Silent Night.The cooling would have been a bonus but then winter is rapidly approaching!Another negative but not the fault of the mattress is that the fitted sheet does not fit properly due to the increased height.All in all white a good buy but I think a little expensive for a sheet of memory foam.

This topper was good value (I paid £70 for a 3 inch double) but really it could do with a cover as it slips on the bed (no straps to keep in place, no cover for protection)It has improved my sleep a lot as it is thick and quite a supportive soft memory foam. It feels fairly good quality, though some of the ventilation holes are getting roughed up with the turning etc. It got to full size in a day and the shape is fineThe worst part of this topper was the awful awful smell. It was so strong for weeks. I left the topper out in the sun and used a lot of bicarb but still a smell persists. Maybe I got unlucky - the bag and packaging stunk as well.
