Can withstand high winds
Great umbrella. I've had it for years, and it has stood up to heavy winds. Reasonably priced and well made.

Umbrella works well but not very sturdy
I ordered the black Totes auto open close umbrella from Amazon (not third party seller) and it works very well. The metal ribs are more sturdy than a normal umbrella but the joints broke on mine after a few months of occasional use and the auto open and close feature is very convenient. The umbrella easily fits into my laptop bag but it is a little heavier than a standard umbrella. The umbrella is covered by a Totes warranty but I have to pay the cost to ship the umbrella to Totes. As I write this review, it costs $7.35 for a flat rate envelope from the USPS so that would be an ok option.

10/10 Purchase!
So. Worth. The. Purchase. First, it’s cheaper to buy this one than one in stores that’s half the quality. Secondly, I have used every kind of umbrella. I commute into NYC and need something durable for a lot of walking, yet compact enough for my work bag. It does the job for both perfectly! Also, opening and closing the umbrella is really easy. Highly recommend!

A “gold mine” for rain
On a recent trip to Aran Islands in Ireland we experienced 30+ mile an hour winds in a rainstorm. This umbrella was a wonderful asset! It held up to the descriptors throughout our two week journey to this idyllic country.

Perfect little “just in case” umbrella
I will start this by admitting that I live in beautiful, sunny San Diego. It rarely rains. The weather changes so infrequently that I don’t even bother paying attention to the forecast. Which is why this little guy comes in handy. Its small, ultra-compact frame makes it easy to just toss in my bag so that it is always with me in the unlikely event a rain shower pops up. I work in the city and often have to park and walk several blocks as part of my commute. Even if it happens infrequently, getting stuck in an impromptu rainstorm can really ruin a day. Having this little “just in case” umbrella helps keep me dry and my days unruined.

Poor quality. Not what it used to be from experience.
Bought two of these umbrellas based upon the quality of two that I have been using for a decade which have been flawless! The new umbrellas are not what was represented on the Amazon site picture. This new model is of lower quality, but called the same name Titan. One broke during the first use. Would not close properly and lock the shaft back in place to the handle. A white string popped out at the top of the shaft. Lifetime warranty requires shipping the unit back to Totes with $5. So a $22 umbrella will costs me another $5 to ship (if I'm lucky) and another $5 for Totes to ship me a replacement. Not going to happen. At best, they should ask for proof of purchase and a picture of the defective umbrella like other manufacturers request. Sorry Totes, all you are going to get is a bad review. I'm not spending $10 to chase after poor quality.
