Most disappointing purchase to date. It’s a wooden dowel that has been painted black- literally. Then, hot glue or melted plastic is used to make some shape to it and that’s painted…poorly. You can still see the strings from the glue/plastic. The crystal on the end does appear to be purple amethyst but of crummy quality. This is an ugly thing, even for the price- no care put into making this. I work for a theatre and would not even use this as a prop in our shows. Just…don’t. I cannot *not* recommend this enough. It would be more fun to make this at home with the kids than to gift them this…and probably cheaper, too.

The stone is nice and it’s holding up as a great play wand for my daughter.
