Works for me
The speakers work perfectly fine for me. I can't believe they are just $18. I had low expectations and I was pleasantly surprised with the sound quality. I'm not looking to host a house party with them, I simply need to amplify sound during zoom/google meet meetings and I am beyond pleased. They are small and compact yet big in sound and powerful (for my needs). I give high ratings for anything that helps me save money and not having to buy batteries to power this up or keep is powered get's my attention. My grandson uses it for his video games. It must be great because I can never find it to use. Every other person in my family wants it for some gadget or another.

decent speakers, short cords
These speakers are decent quality, but the cords are on the short side, and the volume control is in a weird location (halfway down the cord, instead of on the speaker itself). The cable that separates the two speakers is about 3' long which is probably enough for normal scenarios, but I have a standing desk with two monitors, so I normally leave my speakers just outside that (on my actual/bigger desk). If I streeetch things and align it just so, I can get them to fit, but it's tricky. The volume control is in the middle of that cord, so I have to reach **behind** my monitor to change the volume, which is weird and a bit obnoxious. I normally just control volume from my PC instead, but if it starts chiming at an inopportune moment or when my computer is frozen, I can't mute it; I have to quickly unplug the speakers from the back of my PC. This is a bit silly. The power cable (USB cord) is also on the short side (maybe 2'-3' long). It's probably long enough for most users, but mine simply won't reach the power strip where I leave most things plugged in, so I have to use up one of the valuable USB spots on my actual PC in order to simply provide *power* to the unit. That's really quite silly. There's also no indication of which speaker is right versus left; you have to plug them in and test in order to get it straight. No real harm done, but it's annoying

Sounds decent enough for the price, but the build quality is pretty suspect.
These Mailin Computer Speakers aren't bad for the price. They sound decent enough for cheap speakers (as long as you stay away from lows...don't expect chunky bass here) and they're actually larger than I was expecting, but they feel very lightweight and the volume control itself feels especially chintzy. The standard 3.5mm audio input means you could basically use this with anything that has a 3.5mm audio jack, although the fact that it has to be USB-powered makes it pretty specifically suited to its primary purpose (being speakers for a desktop PC, although you could always plug it into a USB power brick if you wanted to use it with something else). The speakers do have rubber feet and are fine for the kind of standard listening you'll likely be doing on a PC (in our case, primarily for online classes). They are decent enough for the asking price, but the fragile feel of the volume control (I literally try to be gentle with it) is a potential cause for concern.
