The universal reversible lens hood is a convenient inexpensive alternative for use with multiple lenses. Simply screw the base of the hood onto your 52mm lens. Then snap the body of the hood on the lens facing OUT when you want to use the hood OR facing IN when you want to store the hood in a bag with no wasted space. (for Canon Nikon Olympus Pentax Sony Tamron Lens + Center Pinch Lens Cap with Cap Keeper Leash).

Good as original
We bought one of the Canon 15-85mm lenses and it doesn't come with a hood, even though this is the most expensive lenses they make in this class (i.e. non-'L' lens, normal range zoom). Maybe because the lens is so new and the original hood from Canon doesn't fit any other lens that I know of, the Canon version is really pricy. I hunted around and found this one for a good price. When I got it, the hood feels pretty much like the same quality as the Canon hoods I have for my other lenses, so over all I have no complaints and happy I didn't have to spend the inflated price to Canon for something that should have come with the lens, IMO.

Great substitute for the Canon Hood
This lens hood gets the job done at 1/6 the price of the Canon one. It's durable and fits very nicely. As other's have said, it lacks the felt like interior coating, but even in demanding shots, I haven't seen what difference that would cause.

Lens Hood for Canon Lens
This is really a nicely made lens hood. It goes on and comes off with ease and fits the lens perfectly. The flat black interior should do well in reducing flare.

Fits perfect and works good with Canon 15-85mm
This hood fits perfectly and is equivalent to the original Canon brand. Great replacement for the original hood. will highly reccomend.

Buy this instead of Canon's original
Let's face it, you can buy this hood instead of the pricey Canon's original. It fits very well on the lens.

Good Value
This lens hood replaces the Canon brand for less than half the cost. Function and fit is good and the quality seems comparable to the Canon. There isn't much difference except price. Of course, Canon should have included a hood with the lens in the first place.
