High quality paint in a nice portable case for traveling and spontaneous opportunities to do art when you are outside your studio.

I got this a a reasonably priced paint set for students. I know Faber Castell makes excellent watercolor pencils (Albrecht Dürer) and figured that even a student grade watercolor set from them would be better than many other brands available. The color choices are appropriate for starting with a practical range of colors. Good starter or practice set.

There is a great variety of colors in the kit for plein air paint sketches, postcards, or more in-depth projects. A nice consistency and vibrant color. I use them in my traveling mini watercolor palette, and find the set a great value for on-the-go artwork.

Great watercolor paints!

I bought these tubes to put in pans so that it would be easier to travel with. For the most part, I have been really impressed with them. I only had one color that doesn’t seem to want to reactivate, and that is the 109 Dark Chrome Yellow. I am fairly new to watercolor painting, so I am not sure what has happened. Is there any way to get this color to reactivate after placing it in a pan and letting it dry? Or is it a bad batch or what? All the others have been great.

This is a good paint set. I'm still a beginner and I found this set to be easy to work with, color was consistent, and packaging was well organized.

These colors are made in India. They would be what I would call student grade and containing most of the colors you would want. PROS Good blendability, dissolve well some granulation in some colors like Ultramarine (you'd expect that) Usually a warm-cool pairing like cadmium yellow and dk cadmium yellow (warm) vs light cadmium yellow (cool) Both a warm and a cool grey are included; different and useful Tubes are easy to dispense and sealed well.. CONS No pigment(s) listed on tubes no info on lightfastness therefore not for professionals not enough yellows or blues (I like four or so, and fewer tube greens) Black and white included (the usual waste in sets, we don't use those typically) Color names aren't standard (light blue, eg. I think they mean cerulean but it's probably a phthalo-white mix and not PB36, the original pigment ) and cadmium yellow may be cadmium hue, which is fine but I'd like to know if it's one pigment such as Benzimidazolone yellow instead of cadmium. Why? These change your mixing potential because colors cancel each other out sometimes. But for students, as long as the colors are well made and of good quality, it is not so important. Reasonably priced, mix well and you have a full set of everything you could want. The blendability was the positive win here--they do a good job dispersing in water on the paper. Faber Castell makes great watercolor pencils, sticks and other art supplies of a mid-range so these fall into the student-grade-useful category.
