Love the Airhook, but know that it may not work in all aircraft designs.
I was pretty excited to use this on a recent trip. I prefer the aisle seat for the evermore shrinking leg room and invariably, someone is crossing over me 3-4 times a flight. I have very long legs (37" inseam). I can't just sit up taller and magically make room for someone to get by. So, just as I get my drink, snacks, iPad and blanket (I get cold easily) set, it's "Excuse me? Could I get out?" GRRRRR! I can hold the blanket, iPad and snacks with one hand, but now I have to negotiate holding the drink and closing the tray table AND unbuckle the seat belt with one hand. First-world problem I know, but I actually like to fly and I really do put up with a lot of things with patience. I just look like a bad commercial for air travel at that point. All at a point when the other passenger is looking at me like I'm a sloth moving too slowly. We flew United on this recent trip and wouldn't you know? It didn't fit the style of seating on that flight. The indentation into the seat back, behind the upright tray table was deeper than the Airhook was designed for and therefore had nothing to resist against. The Airhook could only tip forward and fall off. This is NOT a design flaw in the Airhook. I merely post this here as a reminder that hooks may not work on some aircraft.I was, however, able to use it on the return flight home and I loved it. It comes in a tidy little bag (that's just a wee bit too small at the opening for my liking) that holds the parts together nicely. There's a bit of assembly needed to put it together, and the attachable x-winged cup support could be broken if you weren't paying attention, but it holds together well enough. For most of the trip, my tray table was up. My snacks in my lap and iPad and drink in the holder. Now it was easier to hold the blanket and snack with one hand, unbuckle the belt with the other and not sneer at my cabin mate as he crawls out. Travel for me just got simpler. If you've read this far, let me just say that I've gotten pretty good at air travel. I am 6'2" so all of my clothes, shoes, and jackets are large. I am not a petite woman. But I can pack for a two-week trip in a carry-on suitcase and personal item. So, I can say without a doubt that this little Airhook is worth the space it occupies in my luggage.

The Airhook stops me from slumping over to read my devices in flight...
Feb 24 update: the air hook did not work on one flight on American Eagle Canadair/ Bombardier Regional jet 700 - even though it did on an earlier flight on the same aircraft. It must be because the tray table didn't fit flush enough against the seat back ... removing one star from my earlier review ...@@@. I travel a lot - both long and short haul. I would always try to prop up my iPad on the tray tables with something (a sweater, a book...) so I didn't have to scrunch over the whole flight while reading or watching a movie. So when I read about the Airhook in November, I immediately ordered it. Like another reviewer, I was surprised there were no reviews on Amazon at the time, and even now there are few...So - my first ever Amazon review. The Airhook is terrific. I use it to hold either my mini iPad or my large iPhone - at just about eye level. And I can sit back fully in my seat, with the seat supporting my head. Sooooo much more comfortable. And I can cross my legs if I choose to do so. My husband had to loosen up the 'joints' a bit - they were so tight on arrival that I thought a part was missing. The bungee thing works okay - my devices have not fallen unless someone bumps it (a flight attendant did yesterday). I haven't tried the cup holder yet. It looks secure but I don't think I'd trust hot coffee. And I can only get the cup holder's separate four-pronged attachment to fit on securely about 50 percent of the time. I think I must just need to practice...I note one reviewer said he couldn't fit it on one or two tray tables. On my Airhook's 'maiden voyage' I thought that was the case, but it was just my lack of familiarity in attaching the Airhook. It's worked on two different airlines, both US domestic flights, so far.I used to live in Asia, where many airlines have had great seat back entertainment systems, even in economy class, for years. I am happy I can approximate that experience here now with the Airhook and a downloaded Netflix movie or two.

Good for tablet, not for drinks
I used this for the first time last night on a 3 hour flight on United. The plane was the new kind where there is a slot above the tray table that holds the airline's magazine, etc., and a small net below it that is the seatback pocket for the passenger's use. On these planes, the tray table isn't absolutely straight on top where it locks. Even so, it was easy to get the Air Hook connected up.I agree with the previous reviewer that it feels a bit flimsy, but it was strong enough to hold my 8 inch Kindle Fire without any noticeable wobble. I liked that the screen on my Kindle was now at eye level. It was so much more comfortable than looking down. I wish the drink holder was removable as it didn't work out too well for me and I wouldn't trust it again. I set my cup of water in the holder after taking a few sips. It was not more than 75% full. Moments later the person in front of me adjusted her seat position and the water in the cup sloshed all over my lap. So I spent the rest of the flight with cold, wet shorts. If it had been hot coffee or some sticky beverage or alcohol, it would have been way worse. If you get one of these, I would suggest trying the drink holder with a cup of water first if you try it at all.
