EZ use EZ release tart pan!
Your browser does not support HTML5 video. I have certain expectations when it comes to tart pans and bakeware. I want to be able to use them the way I want to in my kitchen and still have them perform. The first thing I noticed when I opened the package was the quality of the pan. It is heavy for a small pan. I was not sure about using a carbon steel tart pan. POSITIVES: well made, easy to butter and flour both pieces. When I place the dough in the pan and roll the rolling pin across the top of the tart pan the excess dough fell off on the first pass. The tart popped out easily and then bottom slid out from under that tart effortlessly. (I over baked and did not poke air holes.)OKAY: Only one in a package. Honestly, who makes one small tart?NEGATIVES: The maximum temperature is only listed in Centigrade not Fahrenheit.I finally decided the best way to show how the pan would work or not work was to bake in it (without poking air holes), over cook and see if I could still remove the tart easily. The pan passed. I video'd the ending of the process because I thought it was more useful than stills of a packaged pan and dough.I did not pay for this pan. Because I got it for free I felt free to use it harshly and see how it worked. The video shows the results I got in my kitchen.
