A Christmas Carol: Deluxe Slipcase Edition (Arcturus Silkbound Classics, 25)

The book was a Christmas gift. It was beautiful in the box. The book was pretty on the inside as well

Bought this last year and finally reading it this week, what a treasure. The quality is high and the illustrations are top shelf. Can’t go wrong with this. A delight to read at nighttime in the candlelight.

This is a beautiful copy of this book. Made to last. We'll start making the reading of this book a Christmas tradition.

This is nice copy of Dickens Christmas story. The slip case is sturdy and the book is bound in silk. The pages are glossy and the print easy to read. I must however. Complain on one issue. Despite the fact that the description claims to have the original illustrations, several of them.are missing and replaced with more modern versions. Notably the picture of Marly's ghost reaching out for Scrooge and the famous picture of Feziwig and company dancing under holly and mistletoe are absent. It seems a strange decision to include some of the original illustrations by John Leech, but not all of them. That is not to say the other illustrations are bad. Most are excellent and it features to work of Arthur Rackham, on of the most famous illustrators of books I can think of. Still including all of the originals would have been nice. This is however a complaint many would not share and most would not notice, ans everything else about the book is excellent. Even with this it appears to be the best version available on Amazon.

I bought this as a gift for my dad and he was blown away , as was I. It is absolutely beautiful.

After spending a bit of time searching through the choices here on Amazon, I landed on this version of A Christmas Carol. And I am very pleased with my choice! It is absolutely beautiful... the binding, the illustrations and the slip cover are all top notch. I would definitely but this again.

Terrific quality and fantastic illustrations. I think Mr. Dickens would very much approve of this edition.

Lovely special edition. Nicely bound and full of both black and white and color illustrations in a sturdy decorative slipcover. The only thing I don’t like is the cover. The silky/satiny finish stains easily, so wash your hands before handling & be careful where you set it down. >:( Not sure if you can try to clean it with soap & water or not...

Beautifully presented. Covered in red silk, just like the original version. The best illustrations are used throughout the book from various artists. Bought one as a gift and one for me. Required reading each Christmas season.

I am collecting many years editions of christmas carol. This is a special one. The graphics, the slip case, the red colour of the book. It looks as a very detailed and expensive edition. Excellent addition to my collection.

This is a great purchase! The silk bound cover is beautiful, the book itself is gorgeous too! The cover sleeve very nice.
