Wipe off your pipes first.
Looking at other reviews here, you'd think the adhesive on this item is nonexistent. However, I'd be willing to bet money that the people having problems did not wipe the pipes off first and tried to put it on over a layer of dust. If you do it that way, -no- type of adhesive is ever going to stick.I used this tape to insulate exposed 5/8" copper hot water pipes coming off a basement electric hot water heater. After wiping my pipes off, this stuff sticks great, even with the added heat from the water passing through the pipe. After running the hot water, then letting it sit for an hour or so for the pipes to cool the pipe now remains warm up to the point where the wrapping ends, so it appears to be doing its job.I am subtracting one star, though, because of the 5 rolls I bought, one of them was defective, and the foam rubber backing separated from the foil. The vendor is sending a replacement that should be here tomorrow, which will allow me to finish insulating up to the point the pipe goes up into the floor.

Works but difficult to install
Product works to protect pipes as advertised. The one major caveat is that it is very difficult to apply. Adhesions ok but if space around pipe is tight, it will stick to itself and makes it difficult to get to stay. Using other tape to start and at the end helps.

Nearly as useful as drywall screws and lithium powered brushless motors!
Pliable and sticky on one side.So many uses, so little space to expound.

Don't waste your time or money!
I don't like to give bad reviews because you have to wonder if the user giving the review is just not mechanically inclined, or doesn't know how to follow directions, but in my case there were no directions and I have worked all my life as a mechanic in the Automotive and electrical generation fields and this product just sucks! The glue or adhesive was nonexistent and if it did stick the foam broke away.

Did the job. Not worried about mt pipes freezing ...
Did the job. Not worried about mt pipes freezing now. We don't get a lot of hard freezing weather here in Central Texas, so our houses are not built for extreme cold that lasts a day or two, but we can withstand a hurricane. ;-)

The adhesive is not strong enough to even stick to itself
It wouldn't stick to the pipe so I had to use duct tape to hold it onto the pipe.

save your money-this is cheap junk
I bought this wrapping to wrap some PVC pipes. Bought 3 rolls. Every time I tried to wrap the pipes the aluminum foil kept separating from the rubber adhesive but even worse the rubber portion kept tearing about every 3-6 inches. I tried to be patient, but it just kept tearing and the aluminum kept separating from the rubber. I was cussing China and then I saw it was made in the US. This stuff is worthless for the basic job of protecting pipes. I threw the remaining mess in the trash and went to True Value and bought a better brand.

Not great value. But solid product
Itโs a fine product, but there really isnโt much of it.
