This book is one of a kind! If you are a nature lover, a bird lover AND you don't believe in coincidences, then this book is for you. The author draws you in with his stunning photographs and explanations of birds while providing his insight into Jewish teachings, values and traditions and how they relate to the bird. So many people are feeling disconnected due to the isolation of the pandemic, but reading this uplifting, spiritual and inspiring book is just the cure. This book is for everyone - from the observant Jew to the once a year Passover celebrating Jew, Christians or anyone who loves a little Jewish "wisdom" with their cup of tea on a beautiful afternoon. I purchased two for gifts and the recipients loved them!!

This book has to be one of the best uses of the time spent in quarantine. Each photograph in the book is accompanied by short teaching of Jewish wisdom -- short teaching on Torah. The premise is that godly beauty can be found by looking at the world with a conscious lens.A good way to learn about the birds that surround us and reflect on a bit of wisdom.

Most importantly to me, I’ve learned more about Judaism in these short paragraphs. Mr. Eisenstein’s ability to find the correlation between the birds and my religion is amazing. On a rainy cold Saturday I opened The Avian Rebbe Takes Flight. Five hours later I sat back and reflected how much I saw and learned about birds and Jewish wisdom. By my side was my laptop which I repeatedly Goggled Jewish words I had no idea what meant. Being a strong Christian, and someone who respects Jewish tradition, I enjoyed learning about words I can't even pronounce. I marveled at the author's unique ability to melt together beautiful pictures of all types of birds and his deep understanding and application of Judaism. This is a book for anyone who loves nature's beauty. The author's idiosyncratic talent of blending pictures and wisdom is impactful for everyone who reads (and sees) this book.

Enjoyed the combination of bird watching photos and Jewish spiritual wisdom. Good sized book, great for the coffee table (dining room table), we like flipping it open randomly and reading about a different bird every time.

This book is a double header! We get to see beautiful birds in all their splendor while reading the wisdom of the Torah the author has paired with a particular bird. It's something you can refer to again and again to remind you of what a particular bird looks like. It's for children as well as for adults! I say, go for it!

The Avian Rebbe provides a welcome respite; a wonderful connection to the spiritual and natural world. I enjoy the up close look at these beautiful birds and the profound, and often funny, "ah ha" moments the author calls to our attention.

Lovely reprieve with a cup of tea for afternoon companionship.
