Great Pencil Sharpener for a Great Pencil
I was shocked that everywhere I went to buy a Blackwing (at a Brick and Mortar) didn't sell sharpeners so I was excited to find the actual Blackwing sharpener online. This arrived faster than quoted and works great! Highly recommend!

Works great!!
My daughter absolutely loves this and her new black wing pencils. She cannot believe how sharp the pencils are and how much better than the mechanical ones she has always used for math.

2 Steps
This is a good sharpener. It’s a 2 step process though, so it takes a little extra time. First the wood then the actually pencil tip. Small and easily fits in my pencil case. I’m using it for art sketch pencils.

A sharpener as good as the pencils
I'm a Mitsubishi pencil fan, so it took me awhile to come around to Blackwings. But they really are great pencils, and this is a great sharpener. It sharpens in two stages, one pulls back the wood, the other sharpens the lead. Excellent.

Perfect 2 step sharpener for Blackwing pencils.
First you sharpen the wooden part of the pencil in step 1 then just the lead in step 2. It works very well. Since the apparatus is small I have to empty the shavings after every pencil. So far, it's been easy, convenient, clean, and effective. Yes, this method is more expensive, slower, and old fashioned than mechanical pencils or electric sharpeners, but that is precisely the point (no pun intended). The creative process sometimes needs to be tactile, slower, more relaxed, more precise, more carefully undertaken to achieve greater works of art, literature, and music.

Worthless from the beginning. Second step would not sharpen. Adjusting breaks it more.
Out of the box, second step would not work, failed to sharpen the graphite. Blackwing’s site suggests adjusting the screw, as it is very sensitive. Trying to do that, loosening or tightening, did not work. Ended up stripping the plastic, rendering it beyond hope.To Blackwing’s credit, they did offer to replace, but I already returned to seller and was not interested in trying my luck on another. This was my first Blackwing product and an absolute disappointment. If you are still willing to try, note that this sharpener is just the KUM 2-step rebranded and over twice as expensive. And be very careful if you have to adjust. Maybe try one with a metal body

Lovely tip, sharp edges.
This sharpener is amazing! I love how it creates the perfect tip everytime. And with the two sharpening holes, it is so easy to use to get that near deadly tip. I never want to use another sharpener again, because I know it won't compare. You control just how sharp you want your pencil, it is wonderful. The only issue I have come across is when sharpening a pencil from the start, taking the top off and shaving it over a trash can works best. The sharpener can only hold so much shavings.

Buono

Very good sharpener, kind of expensive
Very good sharpener, kind of expensive, but you get what you pay for quality wise, worth the price. Used this on my Staedtler pencils as well as some cheaper pencils to see if there was a difference, and for both is gave a nice long point, and worked very well. It also comes with replacement blades which is nice.As a side Note, this sharpener is a Kum Long Point 2-Blade version, not a 4-blade version.(4-blade has 2 extra blades to sharpen lead pointers from the side of the sharpener housing)
