Curt 56431 Vehicle-Side Custom Rv Blade 7-Pin Trailer Wiring Harness, Select Ford Ranger

I wanted to install this trailer connection to appear as OEM, so I did not order a bracket to install below the bumper. I scoped out the spot where the OEM connector would be and carefully marked where to cut. I used a hole saw at the location beside the license plate, but first I checked for correct size using a cardboard box. After hole size was verified, I cut the hole in the bumper. This area has accommodation for plug mounting, but not big enough for this plug. Out came the tools to lower the spare tire and in a few minutes the spare was on the ground. I used a grinder to cut back the metal backing to allow for the bigger plug. Had to trim about 1/4” of metal from each side. Shot the exposed metal with a bit of paint for protection and in went the plug. I marked for mounting screws to check placement and installed. The rest was a breeze. Separate plug on driver side frame and installed the tee plug. Also plugged wire into the trailer connector. A couple of zip ties to hold wires out of the way and I was done. Took about 45 minutes with going with a factory look, but a bracket below the bumper would have taken less time. I recommend watching the YouTube video for this install and tips on the use of dielectric grease. I give this 5 stars and would recommend.

This fit me 2021 Ford Ranger XLT perfectly. I did not have the tow package, but coupling this with the factory brake controller worked flawlessly.

Good product and worth the money.

All you do is unhook the wires behind the drivers wheel, plug in the new ones, and zip tie the wires up in place. Don't forget to ground the cable with the provided screw. As a plus, this supplies auxiliary power so you can use a Curt Echo brake controller.

This was very easy to install and worked flawlessly.
