Good and powerful unit but the body cracked after 90 days.
This product works great. I bought it May and used it weekly with out any issues. After about 3 month of I noticed it over headed and auto shut down down which is great. Now I noticed the body is cracked. I am not sure if I should continue to use it or send it back.

Out of business.
Was great until it died, and this unit gave up the ghost in far less than half of the time that my previous model 1 Nomiku had lasted. Sorry to see them go, but Nomiku is out of business.

My second Nomiku
I use my Nomiku constantly for everything from poaching shrimp in coconut milk to a whole brisket cooking for 48 hours. The hard water in my neighborhood finally got the best of the first one after 3 years, so I've upgraded and I LOVE it.

Good while it lasted...
Bought this as a gift to my husband and it really worked well until it started to fall apart. First the whole thing started to open up and finally the clip to hold it in place broke off. For what this costs I would have expected better quality. We’re now in the market for a new one so it only lasted a little over a year

Hardware is fine, app is terrible - don't buy this for the 'WiFi'
As an circulating immersion heater this works fine; the manual controls are straightforward to use, and I like the rotating knob. If all I paid for was the hardware unit without wifi / companion app I probably would have rated it at 4 or 5 stars (5 stars with a better "feel" on the main knob for sure). But I bought this for the wifi / smartphone functionality.1 - Requiring me to type in my wifi password by selecting letters using the rotary knob to cycle through the alphabet? Awful. Terrible design/ux choice. But to be fair, it's only once.2 - The app itself - completely awful. Basic options such as changing the temperature units? No chance. But it gets worse; multiple times when I have started the timer on the device, then connected with the app to check? Timer gets reset at some point (typically after the app backgrounds, the next time I swap to it the timer is reset to zero). So this device needs to maintain a temp for a set amount of time, and the app completely breaks the latter. Only two things it needs to do, and the app breaks the second.3 - The whole gettender app/website. I don't want to join some sous vide social network. I want an app that monitors and controls the device. I think someone at Nomiku got this backwards, or is trying to 'pivot', or who knows what. But it's obvious much more effort went into make the app 'social' as opposed to actually monitoring and controlling the device.I will be keeping this, and trashing the app and wifi connectivity; fortunately it seems to work fine without it; My only regret is the extra 50-75 bucks over comparable non-wifi devices that I paid.

It has been great.
I ordered the Nomiku 1100w unit in late April and have used it about 6 times on items ranging from eggs to smoked brisket. Sous vide is an interesting way to cook, even for people who are not immune-system compromised. It has been great. Unfortunately, on July 5, when I planned to do another smoked brisket for the upcoming weekend, the unit decided to not work - intermittent monitor, crazy screen, no response to the ''action'' or ''menu'' soft keys, no response to the green ring. I was very disappointed. I have written to the company. We will see how they handle this concern, and I will update this review.18 Aug update: I alerted the company to the product failure on July 5. They responded via e-mail on July 6, and I had a replacement unit in hand on July 15. The company rep was extremely cooperative, understanding, professional, and pleasant. I thought the company response was fantastic. They even offered a free cookbook to offset my inconvenience - I declined because I already had the same one.The replacement unit now has been used a few times, and continues to function flawlessly. The company recommended that I clean the unit following every few uses with low foam detergent and occasionally descale with a dilute citric acid solution - I have some high TDS water in my area. This makes good sense given that we are evaporating water during the cooking process.I continue to love the Nomiku unit. The design is substantial enough, yet quite unobtrusive in a tall stock pot. (I have seen some reviews where the green ring was called out as not sufficiently solid. I disagree.) The controls are intuitive, simple to understand. The cooking results have been fabulous. The exterior is easy to clean, and with a defined cleaning process for the innards of the unit, I am looking forward to years of good service from my Nomiku, yummm.20 Sep 2017 update: The unit continues to function perfectly. I am more than satisfied. We still cook with the Nomiku a couple of times a week. Great.
