100% Kona Coffee, Premium French Roast, Moutain Thunder Brand, Whole Bean (16 Oz,. 453 g)

The Amazon price was less than purchasing direct from the grower. I absolutely love this coffee because not only is it 100% Kona, but more importantly, they didn't shy away from a dark roast. Coffees like 100% Kona (and Jamaican Blue Mountain, Sumatra, and some of the Ethiopian coffees) really benefit from a dark roast. In fact, a lighter roast can actually ruin these premium coffees by dulling the robust flavor. However, some roasters will cut costs by under-roasting these premium coffees (the roasting process removes moisture, which equals weight and reduces the size of the beans, which means higher cost for the same weight of a lighter roasted coffee). I drink this coffee on the weekends as a special treat. It's especially fantastic when brewed using a French press.

A nice Kona roast.......But, if I wanted French Roast, it should be the bolder Arabica beans not Kona-grown beans IMHO. Kona beans produce a subtle, elegant, somewhat mild flavor that is rightfully world-famous. I'm just not sure that this is the right roast for these beans, but it is a total coffee snobbery nit pick. This is fine coffee!!

Great tasting coffee that I find that the best flavor comes when I boil water and then take water off burner and let set till the boiling stops and a slow steam stream coming out of kettle. I find it cuts down an the bitterness. Great either black or with a teaspoon of raw honey and a Ceylon cinnamon stick soaked in a thermos for about 30 mins (Ceylon cinnamon for my diabetes).

This might be great. But it's for a B-day gift in 2 months so it would not be fair to give fewer or greater stars. Shipping was fast and well done. Cute Aloha greeting. Seems like a good deal and bigger than usual quantity. I do hope it's wonderful quality because Kona is the favorite of my co-worker and his wife.

While it's not the best kona, I do like the taste of it. It has caramel undertones in the French Roast. I cold brew it, so it's not that acidic.

MMM...If you had the pleasure of visiting the coffee plantation, then you know what I am talking about. This coffee is grown on the Big Island of Hawaii. Kona to be exact. This was such a great deal, we ended up buying more. This coffee can be enjoyed without cream or sugar. Some of the locals have with just a dash of turbinado sugar. It is well-balanced. Perfect as a gift!!

If you buy this expecting to get the unique Hawaiian taste in your cup you'll be disappointed. Not having bought Hawaiian beans in a long time I decided it was time to once again enjoy a cup of the island's best. The surprise was the other reviews rating this product so highly. Better tasting brews are readily available at less than half the cost when you include the shipping.

It's pretty good. Not the best Kona Coffee I've had. . .but good and with a few adjustments it could be smoother. I say this hoping Thunder Mountain will work on that.
