Fast to Germinate
The seeds arrived in a small plastic baggy with instructions to soak and sow. I let them soak in water overnight, sowed them in some starting seed soil, and they began to germinate rapidly. I think just about all 25 have germinated within a week and a half. I am pleased with this purchase and am excited to watch them grow.

I should say it is an extremely bad result.
I received seeds in a small plastic package. However, it did not contain any instructions for planting the above seeds. I put the seeds in water for 12 hours, and then planted them, each separately. However, none of the 25 seeds sprouted. I bought two more packages of seeds, which did not contain any instructions either. I planted the seeds in a similar way as in the first case. None of the seeds from the first of the two packages sprouted, while from the second one only 7 seeds gave sprouts.I should say it is an extremely bad result.

Difficult Seeds to Grow
I failed to successfully grow black locust seedlings from these seeds but it was most likely my fault! I shall try again!

Poor germination rate
I am very accustomed to germinating all manner of seeds, and right away I could tell these seeds were of fairly low quality. Many were cracked, split, or deformed. There were 18 intact seeds and approximately another 10 that were broken upon arrival. Seeds were sowed after following instructions, which were correct for black locust seeds. However, only 7 of the 18 seeds germinated. Those 7 are doing quite well, but 7 out of 18 is an extremely poor germination rate and having only 18 whole seeds in a packet of 25 is a discouraging start. I will not be ordering from this company again because these seeds were poorly packed and possibly improperly stored in order to achieve such low viability.

GOOD SHADE TREES FOR SMALL BIRDS
They are growing up slowly and I am still waiting for the flowers. They did not flower at all this spring so I will wait for the next year and see what happens. The plant itself is ok but a few of them look as if someone has hit them with a broom. They are squashed down instead of growing up straight. Ther must be something I did wrong as only one looks like the pictures.
