A must have for campers and emergencies
This tin is a must have for every household. I've had many over the years, and these are what I was expecting. It's a very small and efficient tin that can be kept in a glove box or toolbox. I lit one for about a minute, but I have not tested in the rain (yet). I'm a big fan of emergency preparation, and this tin is something you'd hope you won't need. That said, this is GREAT for canoe trips, hiking, etc. A+

Works… but…
I got these and have used them doing bushcraft stuff. They are harder to light with a ferro rod as compared to my usual fire starter (same type - different brand).Once lit - they are great.

Conflicted Opinion
First of all, these Firestarter arrived in a screw top tin, about the size of a hockey puck, with no label, no instructions, no list of ingredients or anything. Just the plain container and a handful of these little fluffy nugget/pellets.It was a breezy day, so I wanted to see how they'd perform in the wild. Used a regular butane lighter, and took several tries to get the flame to take. Not great if you're in the rain or down to your last match. Not sure flint would get it done, but I didn't try it.Once lit, it burned steady for about 5 minutes, and easy lit up twigs and small tinder. The flame is sometimes difficult to see, but it was there. Very little smoke or smell other than clean burning wood. I didn't see any waxy residue, and the pellet burned up leaving only a tiny bit of ash.I like the eventual performance, but would have expected the flame to take sooner, and dislike the lack of instructions, ingredients, or manufacturing details.
