Fuel inlet pointed the wrong way, but fast refund.
After watching a YouTube on cleaning these I followed a link in the notes because I'm lazy and you know, Amazon has a cheap Chinese part I can have in two days. Well, you can see that the elbow points the exact wrong way. I wrote to AiKai and got a response within hours that I was refunded full cost and I didn't need bother returning the item.My impression of what arrived was that it seems nice. It came with a gasket in a padded Amazon envelope and some thin bubble wrap but the white box was crushed. The choke and throttle move smoothly. I'm somewhat of an expert since I've gotten three carbs trying to replace one for an MTD with the HSSK50. According to the manufacturing stamp, my OEM is a 640084B. As the picture shows the fuel inlet needs to point toward the engine and slightly up in order for the line to be routed smoothly. The first carb was adjustable and looked to be a nice upgrade for a few dollars more, but the fuel inlet pointed toward and down which causes the line to interfere with and get pinched by the throttle linkage. So I called the store that sold it and they agreed it wouldn't work and told me which one to buy and when it arrived it had the exact same problem. In addition, its choke didn't properly close. So I got this one and here we are. At least I got a fast refund and didn't have to return it like the other ones. All three of these carbs said they were acceptable replacements for the 640084B and the photos seemed to confirm it so keep that in mind when you're looking. Good Luck. I've looked over all other possible carbs and ordered a ten dollar one. It hasn't snowed here since we had the record November and but now a good accumulation is coming and my thrower is still not back together three weeks after I took it apart. I've had my fill of researching these things on here with the cut and paste descriptions and stock photos that these stores all seem to use.

Problems removing old Carburetor .Linkage photo
Failed already (3 months)- washer that holds the jet on bottom of bowl was decomposing and blocking the jet. I removed it and replaced washer, and it works again. But beware.I just wanted to give a heads up on removing the existing carburetor. Firstly, take a photo of the link that will fall off when you remove the carburetor so that you will know which of the several holes the link goes in. I did not so I had to use a magnifying glass to see which holes showed wear. Also you need to remove the adjustment handle attachment from the old carburetor and put it on the new one. Sounds easy, but it is not. It must have been put on with locktite as it takes great force to remove.I had to use a vice grip to remove it. My screwdriver did not have the force needed. As it is I need to replace the screws as they are damaged. If someone could recommend how to remove them more easily it would be appreciated.Make sure that the throttle adjust reaches all 4 positions. I had to force mine so that it would. On replacement, it worked first try.To analyze, I looked to see if I could find out why the other failed. The jet that screws into the bottom of the float bowl was blocked. You should be able to see a small passage that goes from the top part of the brass fixture to the bottom. Mine was plugged. I used a fine wire to unblock it. As to whether that was the issue, I won't know till it dies again.

Great Carburetor Just Buy It
Great Crab. Fit on a very old Snapper Snow Blower model 5240. 5 HP Tecumseh 24" auger. Engine model # HS50 67266F I compared reviews from several carbs. and found out that the new carb. has removed both adjustment screws so everything is of the fixed orifice type. Choke bracket, supplied gasket, primer button hose, and carb. cover all remounted perfectly. Engine started with three primer pushes and two pulls. Idle and fast speed adjusted perfectly. The problem of the old carb. was it was flooded out. At one time I replaced the float, needle and seat. Still leaked and flooded. I then replaced the float bowl, it still leaked and flooded. This new carb. has fixed the problem. Before I was able to run the blower, but only because I controlled gas flow by the gas tank line pit cock. Now, all is fixed, thanks to this new carb. The photos are of both carbs. new and old. I have the old one fasten to the choke bracket for photo comparison only. I hope this review with its photos helps someone.

Worked great 1987 hs50 67244F
I had a old snowblower given to me and put a lot of work into fixing it up. The last thing I had to fix was the carburetor leaking out the intake. I spent countless hours removing, rebuilding and reinstalling the carburetor. But it just kept leaking gas out the intake. So I started looking into a new one. Found this one and figured for the price what did I have to lose? When I got it it did not have the adjustable jet like The old one… But like I said for the price what do I have to lose? So I installed it, put gas in, hit the electric start and it fired right up. I let it warm up, expecting to have to adjust it… But once it warmed up it idled great and when I bumped up the throttle it sounded great. And the best part, no more gas spewing out the intake! Wish I would have just bought this carb for half of what I spent on a rebuild kit for the old one!

Perfect Fit - EZ Installation on Near 30 year old Ariens 5 HP Snowblower
Carburetor bowl had developed a pin hole leak that dangerously sprayed fuel when I pushed the primer bulb - this was the easiest remedy for me and at a great price. If you buy a Tecumseh replacement carb it's a hundred bucks. No way for my Ariens snowblower (that still works great) after nearly 30 years.I swapped this new ($15) carb out with the old one in about 20-30 minutes, being careful to note how everything was set up so as to avoid disaster - which sometimes follows me ;-)Started on 1st pull & runs like a champ - How 'bout that?! I'm off to my next 30 years. The proof of whether this is a great replacement carb or not will be whether it's running like a champ 2-3-4 years from now. Stay tuned.Right now, I award it a worthy -- 5 Stars
