DSLR Cinema: Crafting the Film Look with Large Sensor Video Cameras

I purchased this book in an effort to learn how to make more professional looking video, but this book is written for those people who want to make actual movies or advertisements. It is far too detailed for those photographers that just want to make better than average video. Guess I should have spent my money on a "Dummies" book. It would probably be a good book for the photographer who wants to be a professional, but since I'm only a serious amateur I gave it 3 stars.

I really enjoyed reading this and got a great deal of information out of it. There are great insights into how top professionals achieved their 'look and feel' for their projects with links to their sites and finished films. As DSLR shooting has evolved so quickly it's probably time for version three already.

Good book, the covers seemed a bit cheap... of cheap quality... or maybe it was the printer... or the paint in the printer... or the quality of the cover page paper... anyways it has a cheap feel to it, but whatever.I bought this book for my film class, and the delivery was done in 2 days so i'm not complaining. Its cheaper on amazon too! I saved 50 percent!

This seems like a great book so far, but seems to also be fairly focused on Canon equipment.Additionally, things like Magic Lantern see to have light coverage.

Great book..... Tons of infomation...! I love the way Kurt explains everything in his book. If your looking for a book that will help you take your filming to the next step..... This is it.

Book came damaged, so I sent it back. Probably a really useful book, but I did not reorder it

I have to say I do love this book. the content is good and updated, and presented in such a clear way, full of links to videos on VIMEO so you can check what they're talking about.I already know a good amount of what's explained here, but it's a good reference, and you just know this book has gathered all the "right" inforecommended, especially, if, like me, you own a Canon 5D mk2 (or 3), as it's almost the focal point of this book

For a beginner like me this is like my day to day bible, at least until i finish it, and make a small note book! Totally recommend this one.
