2 stars because only one of them is working as it should. This salt and pepper set looks very nice but one of them are not working properly. The metal part of the grinder that you hold is not secured properly and spins around. You have to grip it very tightly holding part of the black plastic piece at the top to be able to get the product out. I would like to exchange only the one that is not working properly but the seller told me they would only send me a discount for the next item purchased and will not exchange the broken product.

Before they broke, they worked very nicely. This is the 3rd pair of grinders that we've owned in about 4 years. I hoped these would last better than the previous brand I purchased but, no luck. The ceramic grinding orifice is secured to the grinder body with plastic braces. After about 15 months of use the braces failed in the pepper mill, the ceramic center piece fell into my plate along with 100's of peppercorns. If you're okay with a product lasting 1-2 years, I guess these would be good for you. I had the same experience with similar, slightly less expensive ones. I hope to find a pair that will last for 10+ years. My parents' grinder is still going strong after 40+ years.

I really like the design of these grinders, and was happy when I first received them. Shortly after I got them though, I had a lot of struggle getting my preferred size of cracked pepper (I like larger pieces). It seemed the core had a difficult time adjusting to a larger size. I finally got it working just the way I wanted after about a week of use. Then, a little over two months of using these, the certamic core just shattered while I was grinding pepper. I would recommend staying away from the grinders with the ceramic cores, thy don't seem to be able to handle frequent use.

These lasted about 43 days. Then the salt shaker quit grinding. There's a small plastic ring that makes it work, but it easily pops out and renders the whole thing useless. Two weeks past the return date...don't waste your money here.

I purchased two sets of these salt & pepper grinders 10/26/17) - one for our kitchen table and one for near the stovetop, to use for cooking. Within a few months, one salt grinder broke...ring popped out and wouldn't grind. The second salt grinder broke just a couple weeks ago. Very disappointed!!! Both of the pepper grinders continue to work, but now I need to find replacements for the SALT GRINDERS!!! I have only used Himalayan pink salt. :(

I purchased these to replace another grinder. I purchase some Himalayan Salt also from Amazon, but it broke my old plastic grinder. These are not only pretty, but very well made and they work great! I love them and would recommend them to everyone!!

Was really enjoying the product until the grinder stopped working on one and the mechanism popped out.

Had it for 5 months, didn't even use it that much and the stainless steel finish came loose so i can't twist it now to crush peppers.
