Yes, they have a smell when you first open, BUT we left bucket with top off on back porch for a few days and it was fine. Perfect for my son who loses balls and nice heavy bucket.

Son likes them - love that it comes with a bucket to carry them to the field and back - and they seem to hold up and not greasy too quickly.

I received 36 white balls, as advertised, with bucket. My son is Lacrosse player and spends every free moment in the back yard shooting at his net and bounce back or in the house cradling. When I saw this I thought it was perfect as he is always stopping to pick up the few balls that he has littered all over the yard – before he can get back to taking shots. I like the lid on the bucket. Previously his balls were in a small bucket without a lid and if left out the rain just filled the bucket and essentially ruined the balls. His fault, I know, but this way there is no excuse for him not to cover them and keep them dry. We’ve had different Lacrosse balls and they all seem the same to me. He’s gotten some with a special coating on them before that cost a lot more – but ultimately these seem like the standard ones he plays with at the tournaments. So far they are holding up to his abuse and he loves being able to take shot after shot after shot before having to pick them all up again. My only complaint is that they stink. They stink badly and the smell doesn’t seem to be diminishing anytime soon. Good thing they are for outdoor fun! Cherise Everhard, November 2017

These were used for mobility/massage, not lacrosse. Opening the bucket up is almost enough to make you pass out, they stink so bad. But once they are used some, the smell goes away.

Don't listen to the other comments this is a great set of lacrosse balls that I would definitely buy again but there is one problem. The packaging is horrible. I had to get a knife to open the case of balls but if your up for the challenge go ahead and buy it. By the way I am a thirteen year old boy. I play goalie and attack. From my experience this is a great product.

Great value

As a personal trainer, I learnt to utilize a lacrosse ball to massage/roll out trigger points to ease pain and improve mobility. I purchased this bucket for the intended purpose initially as a Christmas gift to all my clients, seeing as we used a lacrosse ball often, and I often heard "I need one of these at home!" Well, years later, they all still have their lacrosse balls, they're durable after all. Some have become dog toys, and to my surprise dogs haven't been able to rip them apart. So not only can they be used in sport, for fitness, but also they make a great ball for the dogs to play with.
