The temperature isn't calibrated correctly. I purchased two of these heaters and put them in my tank both set at 78 degrees. When I got home from work the water temperature was 90 degrees and 8 of my fish were dead, 4 of them I had for over five years in a well established tank. Do not buy these they aren't trust worthy. I have tried to get these to regulate in a bucket of water and can't get them to hold an accurate temperature.

works but with a catch.
it works but it does not seem to be calibrated correctly. turning the dial to 78 does not keep the water at 78. it was down around 72 and I had to adjust the dial accordingly for the temp I wanted. otherwise, it is fine.

Temperature of the water goes from one extreme to the other with a slight movement. The temperature indicated on the heater seems to mean nothing.
