Nice unit at an excellent price
Summary: Really nice unit at an excellent price. Fits perfectly on my 2005 Tahoe 5.3.This is a quality piece of hardware--well thought out and nicely manufactured. All of the pieces fit correctly with no slack or misalignment, and there clearly is a high level of engineering put into how it is designed. An anti-vibration fitting and an attachment point for the existing radiator hose "clamp" are very nice touches. There are pros and cons to the aluminum (shiny/pretty but theoretically more heat transfer), but it sure does look better than the stock plastic thing that was in there before.Installation was relatively straightforward, although the low contrast b&w pictures in the instructions left a small bit of guesswork. My "under the hood" time prior to putting this on is only a few oil changes, and I was able to get the 9900 installed perfectly in just over 1 hour. Someone who knows what they are doing could probably do it in half the time. Tricky parts for me included figuring out how the wiring harness can be unattached from the MAF and making sure all of the hose clamps were accessible, but other than that, a slow, methodical approach is all that is required to get this installed. Hint: take your cellphone or tablet to the garage with you, and query pictures for "spectre cai tahoe" if you get stuck. For me, I've noticed a small bump in performance. The Tahoe certainly is no Corvette now, but it does seem a bit more responsive. It is louder at wide open throttle, in a good way, and the truck doesn't seem any louder in day to day driving, which is also good. Not sure if I am getting any mileage improvement (too soon to tell), but I will repost if there is a significant pickup.

WOW Great Product / Amazing Price!
2000 GMC SIERRA 2500LD (6.0L):I have no clue how Amazon does it! It's simply amazing, their prices are absolutely unbeatable anywhere! I have always been a K&N guy, purchasing one for my Hummer H3. I now have a Sierra and was wanting to upgrade the intake. I of course looked at the K&N kit but saw this one as one of the recommended products. Thank you Amazon! You just saved me about $150! Plus they have a promotion going right now. I ended up going with the Amazon Warehouse Deals and saved even more (basically a non-used return, didn't even look like it had been opened, perfect). This is an excellent kit. Being familiar with the K&N, I can tell you that the Spectre is 100% everything the K&N is! Seriously, there is basically no appreciable difference between the two, and this one is HALF the price!! I was absolutely impressed with the quality of this, from the nice polished intake to the huge filter. The heat shield is good quality and powdercoated. Good gaskets as well.I finally got to take an extended drive with the intake installed. I can confidently say that there is some added punch to the throttle with faster response for the big 6.0L. I was actually surprised about how noticeable it was as I wasn't expecting much.Overall, if your thinking of getting an intake, don't think twice, save your money and go with the Spectre, you are NOT loosing anything but the big name in the process and gaining some extra punch to your throttle. Also, the install instructions are well done and the entire process took about an hour (honestly could have taken about 20 min but I'm a stickler for perfection). 100% satisfied and highly recommend!

Easy Installation, Great Air Intake Kit
Installed this in my 2004 Chevy Silverado. Took less than 30 minutes with minimal tools needed. Feels and sounds better than my stock air intake. Cant really tell in my every day driving if a huge difference was made, but Would definitely recommend to other Chevy owners.

Only works with electric fan setup
Works great if you have a electric fan set up if you have a fan that runs off the water pump it will not work since the elbow off the throttle body will interfere with the fan works great on my 01 sierra

Happy with purchase
Installed the Air Intake in under an hour, as I also replaced my serpentine belt, AC belt, and the serpentine tensioner. Fairly easy to install, except that the bolt for the vibration pad broke as I was tightening it. (I will call to get a replacement.) After installing everything I turned my truck (2000) Chevy Silverado Z71 1500) on. You could tell from the sound that it was already working. I let the truck run for 4 minutes or so and revved it to 3500 RPM. It sounded great, much deeper than normal. Although I had a load in the bed I had to take it out for a drive. The throttle response was faster, as was getting up to speed. Hitting the throttle had a boost not felt before. Overall I am quite happy with this upgrade on my old reliable truck. I thought about getting the K&N version, but the price was higher than I wanted to pay. I would recommend this product to anyone. Four 1/2 stars due to easily broken bolt.Update: After a year the filter had fallen off. It was just laying there. I reinstalled it and have had no problems with it falling off again. Engine still sounds great with a nice low hum, and response is still good for 233,000 miles.

Cant beat for the price

Simple install, happy with it!
If you're somewhat mechanically inclined this is a very easy install. Took me about an hour after work (while drinking beer and taking my time). I was gonna spring for the K&N but the price difference wasn't justifiable for the difference. I have an '03 silverado SS with full length headers and true dual exhaust and a tune w/ stock internals in the motor and I think I can feel a slight difference in responsiveness (may be in my head). I wasn't expecting much for gains but it looks cool and feels like it made a little bit of a difference.
