Cyril R Salter Luxury Shaving Cream 165g (200ml) - Essential Lime

First of all, what an exceptional value, and 13 bucks for a HUGE jar of what is a very effective shaving cream. It absolutely blows the doors off your basic foams and gels, and from what I can tell so far, competes very well with some very good products like Cremo, WSP, Cella, Proraso and so on. Being a soft cream, you don't have to work it to create a nice slick coating -- in fact, I'd actually advise against even trying to work up a foam with it, as you want exactly the kind of slick this stuff provides right off the brush. It doesn't dry any more than any good cream should, it protects well and rinses off cleanly. The only thing more I could wish for is a stronger lime scent. What's there is very natural smelling, and I like it - but I wish it was a bit more "in your face." But suffice it to say, performance is key, and I have to give credit where it's due - this stuff does perform.

I have some other shaving soaps in a dish that I lather up with a badger brush, and by far this one is the creamiest and fastest to lather up of them all. You get a rich, thick cream in a few swirls, nearly 10x faster than some of the others. The texture and luxury is great, and the lime scent is refreshing but not overpowering. The essential citrus is also good, a bit more like yuzu or grapefruit smell, same wonderful lather.One of the best!
