One True Loves

Tender, beautiful and heartfelt
One True Loves is such a beautiful, bitter-sweet story about love, loss, and finding yourself. When Emma's life is turned upside down after her husband Jesse is lost at sea after a helicopter crash, she has to overcome loss, learn to live again, navigate life and discover who she is and what she wants. Emma was head over heels in love with Jesse and when an old work-mate/friend re-enters her life (Sam), Emma realises she's living half a life and if she's ever to have happiness and feel love again she must let go of Jesse. Just as Emma's life is blooming and her future is looking bright, she receives a phone call to knock her off her feet again. Jesse has survived and is on his way home - to her. My heart broke so much reading this, and I had no idea until the last few chapters what Emma was going to do and who she was going to choose. This book made me look at life, relationships, and true love in such a different way, and I loved every second of it. The ending warmed my heart and brought more tears to my eyes. Taylor Jenkins Reid is just amazing with her storytelling, and I've loved every single book I've read of hers so far!

Not the authors best, but a decent enough read
I seem to have a love hate with this authors books. I either love them or find them a mediocre read. I had high hopes for this book after reading the book description. Although I enjoyed it I thought it lacked depth and character have devoured all her books. The whole story is about Emma and the difficult choice she has to make, will she choose her fiancè or her long lost husband? If I’m honest I thought Emma deserved to loose both, she’s a bit of a wet blanket, indecisive, and her character lacks depth so come the end you don’t really care who she chooses! Although I enjoyed the read I think the ending was to cut and dry. It was predictable and lacked the depth and emotion I expected.

Sweet
A great book, a great story, great love. I loved falling in love. I think is the best feeling in the world for everyone. And usually we really fall in love more times. And it can happen we find more true loves. But we stay with one at the time. Well normaly. In this book a woman lose her love of a life after one year of marriage. They traveled a lot, had really open realationship and are just perfect till he goes missing. And then she goes back to her childhood home and find an other life she really likes, she fell in love with an old love. But when they get engaged she receive a call that her dead husband is still alive and is coming back to her life.It seems impossible situation and I would die rather than choose. So emotive and so heartbreaking situation. I loved the passion and the will and I really hoped that would resolved for all in a good way. Maybe I would need more time to decide. It was a little rush for me. But anyway beautifully written. I would love those two falling in love again and again. Also a great thanks to my true love budy read."..don’t think that true love means your only love.I think true love means loving truly.Loving purely. Loving wholly."

Quality romance very different to anything else 👍
TJR is a new author to me ; after discovering the fantastic daisy jones and the six Iv ordered all her other novels. One true loves is an extremely good romance book 📖 id say much much higher quality than chick lit - my goodness I hate that term it’s so sexist let’s band it !!! Anyway , it does start a little like a YA novel , which is an issue for me as I do not get on with YA novels ; however that is just setting the scene as Emma ages with pretty much each chapter . It’s probably everyone’s (except in some instances ) worst nightmare that a lover , partner , husband , wife etc re appears after years. Particularly at certain stages in your life , for those of us who have reached it and beyond we know you’re not the same person at 25 that you are at 45 etc and traits you find endearing in a lover in your 20s make you want to shout for divorce papers in your 50s. In my book group each one of us is on our 2nd marriage apart from the youngest member , we probably seem like a negative 👎 lot ! There is so much that reminds me of my first marriage about this book, we met very young , we changed and moved in different directions 🧭 we had an amicable divorce , we are both remarried and live on opposite sides of the world , our marriage would never ever have lasted , but I have very fond memories of our life together , it’s part of our history - and to quote the book “we were right for each other once , I am who I am because I loved you and you loved me “, if only people could have happy break ups because at some stage in your life that person made you happy. Anyway, checking out your ex’s is an hilarious thing to do with your girlfriends , I think that’s why social media was invented 😆 I know I did it recently On a spa day , it made us happy it made us laugh it made us reminisce , it’s also nice to see these people that at one stage in your life made you happy are happy and healthy now in their life’s, surely we’d wish that for all of them , no body deserves to be lonely. So in my humble opinion a clever little story about past and present loves which I very much enjoyed , I haven’t ever read anything quite like it , and If you haven’t laid in bed at night next to current husband / wife / lover no 2, 3, 4 or 5 and thought about no 1 or no 2 then your nose 👃🏻 will grow like Pinocchio 🤥 😆 happy reading folks x x x

One True Loves - Taylor Jenkins-Reid
I'm fast becoming a huge fan of Taylor Jenkins-Reid - I don't think she's capable of writing a bad book.I'd hate to be in the same situation as the protagonist in this book and I really felt for every character. I wanted everyone to have a happy ending and couldn't decide who I wanted Emma to choose because both men were so deserving and I'd be sad for who she didn't choose.I love a book that can get me this concerned for the characters.

Drama romântico
Gostei muito do livro, classificaria ele como drama romântico, porque ele é mais drama do que romance. Muito bem escrito, enredo diferente dos romances comuns.

A true love story about 3 people
The boom starts out good then gets a little slow and kind of boring but not too long it picks up and I give it 5 stars. 2 guys and a girl who grow up together and fall in love. She marries the star athlete and they explore the world very happy. The plane he was on for one of his world trips crashes and he is the only survivor. He swims till he finds a small rocky island and is assumed dead. He’s there for 2-3 years so Emma and everyone thinks he’s dead. After a couple of years she moves back home and runs her parents bookstore where she re unites with Sam the other guy she grew up with and they fall in love. That’s all I’m saying. The book gets very good and I even cried it seemed so real. You need to read it if you’ve ever loved and lost and then loved again.

Beautiful romance
Emma and the two loves of her life. Who will she pick?I cried sooo much while reading this book. It was heartbreaking yet wholesome and beautiful. The story is so well-written that I could feel every emotion felt my Emma. I read this book twice. I loved reading how Emma fell in love with Jesse and Sam. Sam’s character is such a sweetheart!! I can’t wait for the movie adaptation!

Sehr eindringlich
4.9 Sterne.
