EcoPlus HGC748465 Premium Mag Drive Utility Water Pump Fixed Flow Submersible Or Inline for Aquariums, Ponds, Fountains & Hydroponics-ETL Listed, 700 GPH, Black

When the pump broke on my Summer Escapes pool I found this pump. It came with a lot of various size adapters and hose fittings which enabled me to hook it to existing hoses. The pump spent all summer outside the pool circulating water through the filter. At the end of the summer I submerged it and drained the pool through a garden hose. It’s extremely quiet. It’s an excellent pump. Moves a lot of water quickly.

I thought this was going to be a game changer to pump water for a filter. Received ok, came with a bunch of mystery fittings which I was a little confused when I needed to buy adapters to fit the fittings that fit them. When I got everything hooked up it worked wonderful. Moderately quiet and head great water pressure for a pond pump. After about 4.5 weeks (just beyond Amazon's 30 day return window) my wife told me that the pump sounded like a garbage disposal. At first I didn't think is was that loud but after a few days continuing to run it was crazy loud, the motor was burnimg hot and kept tripping the GFCI outlet. I pulled the plug for good and brought into my shop for inspection, after the last screw was removed, the front cover of the pump just fell to the ground. The white plastic axle that the impeller rotates on was broke off (it gets worse) I removed the motor rotor and it looked like it had been turning metal to metal with deep grooves etched. The impeller which also was broke off the rotor. A look into the motor housing where the rotor rotates, I could see a crack in the plastic and the metal part of the stator was exposed (explains the deep etched grooves and GFCI tripping from water leaking into the motor housing). I find it hard to understand how such a simple device can be engineered so poorly. Needless to say I was very dissapointed. I am going to try to contact the seller but from the looks of other reviews I may be out about $75. See my pictures I added to my review.

Bought this pump, hooked it up and it ran like it was supposed to for about two weeks and then it lost it suction power and just trickles out, found a stone blocking the tube. Runs very well

This pump really moves water. If you have the need for a 700 galon per hour pump don't hesitate.

Hooked this up for use in my in-ground pond, attached filter, turned on. Ran well for about 9 days, on tenth day, impeller broke. No response from seller. Tried to go with this somewhat higher end brand, what a waste of money. Cheap junk. Amazon should not sell these.

Very fine pump for fish pond.

This is a great pump when it works! I've had frequent problems with the pump not starting when power is applied. I had the pump plugged into a timer and many of the plants in my Hydroponic garden died due to the pump not starting during the ON interval. Thinking the timer might be the issue, I tried to use it with a couple different ones to no avail so I've now resorted to running the pump 24/7. If the pump stops for any reason (ie to perform maintenance, power outage, etc) the only way to get it started up again is to take the pump out, bang it against something, cross my fingers, and try plugging it in again and then repeat. I believe their is something gunking up the motor or impeller and opening up the input of the pump shows there is a tight fit between the impeller and the body. I've been running the pump with a 200 micron mesh filter on the inlet so doubt it is due to something it sucked up, Loosening the screws on the front cover has helped relieve some of the pressure on the impeller so now I only have to bang it against something half as hard to get it going. Although ECO PLUS support responded quickly to my issue they weren't very helpful and blamed the issue on the timer I was using even though when I have it plugged directly into the outlet it has the same issue. Overall I can't recommend this pump due to the reliability issues I have had.

Inside intake hole end piece was broken off !!!!!!

I don't know if I'm extremely unlucky but both pumps i received do not function. (700 GPH)For the first one I went through all the time and effort to set up hoses for the intake and output and upon turning the pump on the first thing i noticed was the unhealthy noise. Sounded like something inside was bouncing around and broken. Either Way i tried to put the intake in water but nothing happened. Zero suctionSecond pump came and before i even went through the trouble of transferring my hosing i figured I'd plug it in to see if it worked any differently.Unfortunately same thing. Noise as if something is broken and when placing hand over intake our output there was extremely little flow and even then it was a stumbling flow. (same thing happened with first)I noticed the packaging it came it also looked old. Perhaps they are sending refurbed pumps? or maybe just sending out pumps that have already been returned without any fixes?Either way I would not recommend purchasing these pumps.On top of the effort i put into setting up the system I am now going to have to make trips to the post office to return these items. Save yourself some time and avoid these. may add a video later to prove it

Ordered Aug 29th, woke up to pump making a lot of noise today Oct 6th and found that the impeller shake broke into 2 pc's. I see no warranty details listed so I guess I get to try and hunt down my own replacement impeller. This aspect of Amazon sucks, you seem to be on your own if their cheap wares break.
