Prequel With Potential
This comic is a prequel to the Kong Skull Island movie, presumably set far in the past. The story so far is fine, the art sometimes good, but other times it's hard to distinguish one character from another. I like the leading lady, and the concept of the Kongs as a race bred by humans. It's not anything special overall, at least, not yet. I think there is potential in this series, so if I saw the next volume in the library or on sale for cheap, I'd pick it up.If you're interested, you might as well read it, but don't have high expectations.

5 Stars for the Prequel to King Kong and Skull Island!
Such a great prequel explaining the origins of the early generations of Kong (King Kong's family). It also explains how the people of Skull Island end up there to make that dangerous island their home. This book has such an engulfing story that displays not only how the Kong were created by the tribes for their own use as helpers, companions and protection but also how the dark sinful nature of all men lead to jealousy and evil which cause the Kong to be separated from their human families and thus the beginning of why the Kong don't trust the humans anymore.. The artwork is good but my only complaint is that sometimes the art becomes overdrawn. Not bad art don't get me wrong but it's so detailed at times that it causes me to stop reading to take in the whole picture and try not to miss what the picture is trying to convey in the story. I just think it was ambitious drawing and my hats off to the artist but in some scenes I spent too much time taking in the whole picture and the continuity of the story was like watching a streamed video and it starts buffering causing the movies story to be stalled. Besides that I really am enjoying this book and series and hope it continues since the story is so good and interesting! That's why it gets 5 stars from this reader.

It's alright
The story is confusing because it is hard to differentiate which characters are which. The art is good. It's just that the characters need more physically defining characteristics.

even though its supposed to be a sad moment in the story
no narration, how long do the trips to skull island and back take? a week?a month?who are the characters?no explanation.when the kongs get killed ,i have no idea which one it is,even though its supposed to be a sad moment in the story.all the characters look the same. no explanation of why anybody does anything and it seems like months or years might pass, but everybody has the same clothes on.i love king kong and the art is good, but the writing is horrible.hey james asmus.i cant read your mind!
