Great backpacking option
We enjoyed it while backpacking in Olympic NP. One packet was enough for 6 folks to use as a topping for (pre-made, brought for our first night meal) quesadillas - not a lot for each of us, but enough to improve an otherwise bland meal. The flavor is not spicy, but you can taste some salt and lime in addition to the avocado.

Don’t bother
Unless you are somewhere with no access to avocados, do not waste your money. I thought this would be an easy and convenient way to make fast guacamole. First, it makes a shockingly small amount of guacamole, not even near 8 ounces. It had a couple of bites worth. Second, the room temperature water was not enough to dissolve the chunks. I tried warmer water and I still had a few chunks of the freeze dried avocado. And finally, the flavor sucked. It says it has lime and salt but it tasted like a bland avocado, I had to lime and salt it myself. Moral of the story: you will save time and money and frustration by going to the grocery store and buying a nice big avocado.

Not too bad!
Try to get the contents of the package as broken up as possible (powder state) before adding water. The second time around with doing that was way better. It reduces to a fairly small amount. Says 8 oz, but was not that much. Good for one person and 12-16 chips

Way too salty
The general flavor and ease of this was great, but it was way, way too salty. No weird aftertaste like some of the other freeze dried avacado products. It is already freeze dried, the salt is unnecessary for preservation.

Delicious!
Just think…guacamole out on the backpacking trail! This FD guac rehydrated in minutes, to a smooth consistency. Tasted like fresh guac. I added seasoning and had it with chips. Yum!

I'd steer clear of this one
I bought this for an upcoming hiking trip. I thought it was insanely ingenious that someone was able to freeze dry avocados for whipping up a quick guacamole snack. When it arrived I decided to do a test run of it, and boy am I glad that I did! When you add the water to the pieces of freeze dried quacamole it easily mixes into the familiar bright green, smooth paste that we all have come to know of a traditional guacamole. Where I began to run into trouble is how it tastes. While the texture and color of this product are just about spot on, the taste is far from even reminiscent of guacamole. It tastes like something between a crayon and a bowl of mashed soy beans. I was so unimpressed with the taste that I took 2 bites and threw it out. If you're looking for guacamole I'd steer clear of this because it aint it, ya'll.

Tastes exactly like fresh guacamole!
I never thought it would taste exactly like fresh guacamole. We all loved it at home and the best thing is that it took me less than 30 seconds to make a bowl out of it. I definitely recommend it.
