I bought this backpack for use during college during school season and as a hiking "go bag" for the summer. For these two rolls the backpack is fantastic. The shoulder straps do a great job of dispersing the weight of all my school books and supplies and I often forget I'm wearing a backpack. The outer bungee cord on the end of the bag is great for strapping a jacket or sweatshirt down if it's threatening to rain out of if you need an extra layer for a cold classroom.The interior consists of one large main compartment and one medium sized "organizer" compartment. The large compartment has a section for a laptop. This section does not go all the way to the bottom of the bag however, it stops a few inches from the bottom with what feels like a foam tube. This is actually a pretty smart feature as it stops your laptop from ever hitting the ground when you place the backpack down. However this also stops you from putting a larger laptop into the laptop compartment as my 17in laptop won't fit in this section. However your standard macbook or anything around 15 inches should have no trouble fitting into this section. The rest of the main compartment is very spacious and will fit a multitude of textbooks, notebooks, or binders.The "organizer" section has built in sections for your pens or pencils, and a number of Velcro sections to store small things without them bouncing around. There's also a decent amount of physical space that the outer wall will accommodate if you wish to store odds and ends in this section.On the trail this bag continues to impress with its ability to disperse weight evenly. The two water bottle holders are each large enough to hold a nalgene though the fit is snug. This ends up working in my favor however as I never have to worry about my water bottles slowly slipping out as I walk along.My only issue with this bag is that the back doesn't allow for a lot of airflow and sometimes this results in a sweaty back. I am prone to this problem anyways though so this may or may not be an issue for other people.

my normal work bags dont' last more than 5 months but this is really sturdy.. best work bag I've owned
