Salamander Van Gogh Starry Night Stick Umbrella

So happy with this umbrella. The design is great and it is nice and large enough for two people to comfortably walk underneath together. The wooden handle feels a little light and delicate though, so don't give it to a little kid to use as a sword or anything. I haven't experienced it breaking but it just makes me want to be careful with it because of how light the wood feels.The coolest part is the spring mechanism to keep the umbrella open. Maybe I just haven't bought a new umbrella in a while but all my past umbrellas have been built to stay closed, with a little metal latch that holds it open and you have to push down on the latch thing to close it. (Ouch!) This umbrella operates in the opposite manner and once you press the button to open it, a spring pushes it to the top and keeps it there. When you want to close it, you just pull it down. No sharp latch to press down necessary. Very cool!Also shipped very quickly. Thank you!

I have two of these umbrellas, one at the office the other at home. The other has the cathedral ceiling on the inside and is almost as nice as this one.These umbrellas are so well made I hope I never encounter the gust of wind that is capable of inverting them. They spring open with a thwamp yet once latched they are held firmly closed. They are as gorgeous as the pictures represent. Who wants a boring old uni-coloured umbreall anyway?! Have fun on a rainy day and crank out your Starry Night umbrella (or any of the lovely umbrellas of this make.)

My girlfriend is an artist and a big fan Van Gogh. In fact Starry Night is her favorite painting. So when I saw this I had to get it for her. There were several vendors that were selling umbrellas similar to this one but based on the pictures, this one seemed to be the best quality. I'm glad I went with this one. The screen printing is clear, the colors are bright and the sewing seems to be good. The girlfriend is really happy with it. I reccomend this for the artist in your life.

I love this painting. I've actually owned two other umbrellas with this design that were made by different companies: the first I lost and the second broke. This one from Salamander has a much sturdier construction than my last one. It also has colors that are closer to the colors of the actual painting; my last umbrella was much more blue. I'm also a fan of the brown wood handle. I would definitely recommend this umbrella!

Painting looks beautiful, handle easy to hold. Love the metal tip on the end. The catch does not always click right into place when closing, but it is manageable once you get used to it. I have already gotten at least one compliment on this umbrella!

I chose a five star rating because I was expecting a cool, unique, well-made umbrella for a fair price. I got a BEAUTIFUL umbrella that is practically indestructible for what I now think is a steal! Shipping time was lightning fast!
