We purchased the 3 and 2-layer caddies to permanently install in our showers. It seemed that the most common shower caddies are wire racks, which are attractive, but some items like small bottles, may not stand up straight on the wire. So, we chose a flat surface. The flat shelves fulfill their intended purpose of storing items in the shower without tipping. The installation is a little tricky (loss of one star) if you keep them all together as shown in the photo. Your corners must be square or you'll need to do a little bit of bending to get the unit in snuggly. The shelves can be installed separately and this may avoid the problem.
