What a great lens!! Fast and clear results. Beautiful resolution and a perfect mate to my Z8.

The lens was used on two separate trips to polar regions and performed extremely well in cold and wet conditions. The lens focuses fast, and image quality is excellent.

Excellent Nikkor lens that I use for my Z6 model iii. I use this primarily for sports photography, but it would be good for wildlife photography, too. The only drawback is that it's a relatively slow lens (i.e., its widest aperture is not wide enough to let in sufficient light for all of my fast-action, high-speed shooting needs) and tough to use on an overcast or dark day for high speed sports photography.

Great lens, heavy but has great sharpness

Nikon has hit this one out of the park. This lens is very sharp.

I've been very impressed with results from this lens. No, it is not the fastest at focusing - particularly if you're going full near/far range. But it is plenty quick and sure on modern cameras (Z6iii,8,9). But it is the best value option that covers that 200-400 range and, best part, that value comes with remarkably few compromises. Recommended. Would be 'highly recommended' but it's getting fairly old and I'm guessing Nikon will update it soonish.

Overall, a really flexible lens. 100-400mm is a convenient focal length range for landscape and wildlife, and it's also good for close-up work due to small minimum focus distance. It works well with the 1.4x teleconverter to reach 560mm f/8. It complements the 24-120mm f/4 lens well and takes the same 77mm filters.

Don't walk, RUN to buy this lens! It is the best affordable lens I've ever had, better than the Nikon 200-500 that I was using for five years with the D500. Had to switch to mirrorless for the overall weight factor. This lens works perfectly on my Z50II camera, picks up details I've never seen before.
