Very cool
The light it emits is very pleasant and warm; it sits in our living room and is honestly just gorgeous. When it's turned on you can see various explorers' routes across different oceans. Although I don't know enough about geography to say how accurate the map is, it looks good enough for me and my SO!

Fantastic detail
My grandkids were lost about geography so we bought this globe. Now it's a game to find countries and exploration routes. Love it.

Just as pictured and a very nice globe
Waypoint Geographic Como 12" BeigeVery pleased with the globe, it's exactly as pictured in the advertisement photo which is a plus, sometimes what you actually receive in a blind purchase does not match the ad photo. The wood stand and metal meridian set it apart from plastic versions. The base wood seems of good quality with a smooth finish and no blemishes. The finish on the metal meridian is also of nice quality. We opted to replace the incandescent bulb with an LED bulb which was easy to do but note the surface of the globe is somewhat fragile and can be gouged or pin-pricked so care is required. The manner in which it comes apart to replace the bulb limits the height of the bulb you can use, the bulb it comes with is 2 1/2 inches overall, from top to the bottom of the metal bulb base and that's about the max height you could get in there. Shouldn't be an issue since these are not meant to be used with high lumen bulbs anyway. We used a tiny 1.8 watt LED bulb, the kind sold as night light bulbs and that provides a very subtle glow which is what we prefer.
