Wind Turbine Experiment
I bought this to try out for a backyard engineering wind turbine. Spinning with my finders it was producing 3.6 volts, so I connected to the power drill and going about half speed I was able to produce 36 volts. You need about 13 volts to charge a 12 volt deep cycle battery, so this motor should hopefully generate what I need once I build out the rest of the design. Free electricity!

It's a DC generator.
Bought 5, used the drill test method got 13.5~14 vdc no load at full speed on black and Decker drill. Good luck 🍀

It works
Weak amperage. Only good for lighting. Best way to turn it is with a small electric motor and a 12 volt battery which has way more amperage. Furthermore if you have 12 volts why do you need 12 volts?

Replacement brushes?
This small motor/generator is perfect for my project however I would like to know if I can purchase replacement brushes for them?

I put 10v battery on and got 275v on turbine 😃

Low output during high wind
15 mph wind only produces 1.5 volts on direct drive windmill shaft. It will not light up a 3V led steady. I’m sure a gear box could produce good voltage but I’m trying to keep it simple. Didn’t work for me.

Read the specs, not for high charging value, works great for it's intended purpose.
You can't get this at this price anywhere.
